Asheville’s ‘Taste of Southern Season’ Store is Now Open!

Southern Season’s smaller format Taste of Southern Season store is now open! The 2,000-square-foot shop with onsite parking is located at 4 Swan Street in Biltmore Village.

“The enthusiasm about the store pushed us to get things ready more quickly than we anticipated,” says Dave Herman, President. Last month Southern Season opened a second Taste of Southern Season store in downtown Charleston. “We are excited about opening our first store in Western North Carolina and proud to offer a selection of outstanding products made by local artisans.”

Among the goods customers will find on store shelves are hot sauces and salsas from Fire From the Mountain, preserves from Blue Ridge Jams, sodas and cocktail mixers from Blue Blaze Syrup & Soda Co., bars from French Broad Chocolate Company and coffee from Dynamite Roasting Company. Delivery of several other local brands is expected in coming days.

Shoppers also can count on finding some of the best-selling products from the Chapel Hill flagship store, including Chapel Hill Toffee, and other premium grocery and entertaining essentials. The store also will carry our popular line of cheese straws, nuts and jams, as well as our signature gift baskets.

Store hours will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. General Manager Melissa Robbins will coordinate daily tastings and product samples.

Southern Season’s product assortment and exceptional customer service are regularly rewarded by customers in “best of” contests in their communities. The Chapel Hill store recently was honored as Best Gift Store by readers of Chapel Hill Magazine and Best Kitchen Store by Indy Week, which also recognized us in the Best Chocolate, Wine and Gift categories for Orange and Chatham counties.

The smaller concept is modeled on the successful debut Taste of Southern Season store, which opened in May 2015 in Raleigh’s Cameron Village. By eliminating excess space and focusing on the most popular local and regional products, it quickly achieved success in a highly competitive area.

Enhancing the success of all brick-and-mortar sites is a significant investment this year to build an online digital store to allow customers to select from more than 80,000 items by phone or tablet. The system also will benefit shoppers at physical stores, enabling them to order products not found on shelves for prompt home delivery.
