Twelve Promoted in Asheville Police Ceremony

Asheville Police Chief Tammy Hooper and Mayor Esther Manheimer recently presided over a promotion ceremony in which twelve members of APD rose to higher ranks.

Six received the rank of sergeant, five to lieutenant and one to caption.

Here are the new ranks of those promoted:

– Jonathan Brown, Lt. Michael Lamb, Lt. Joseph Silberman, Lt. Joseph Sorrells and Lt. Jackie Stepp
– Michael Allen, Sgt. Noland Brown, Sgt. James French, Sgt. Joshua Hill, Sgt. Lucas Lovelace and Sgt. Angela Tullis

They each took their oaths with friends and family by their side during a promotion ceremony in Council Chambers. They were sworn into their new positons by Asheville Mayor Esther Manheimer. The ceremony concluded with words of encouragement and inspiration by newly sworn Captain Gary Gudac.
