New Mural to Be Installed on Public Wall Street Stairwell

A new temporary mural will soon be installed on the public stairwell connecting Battery Park and Wall Street. The project is being done through an agreement between the Asheville Downtown Association Foundation and the City of Asheville.

Agya Boakye-Boaten, chair and associate professor of Africana and interdisciplinary and international studies at UNC Asheville, has been awarded a 2019-20 Fulbright U.S. Scholar grant to teach and conduct research in Ghana at the University of Cape Coast.

City of Asheville Hosts Community Meeting on New Fire Station

A new fire station is planned on city-owned property at 316 Broadway Street in the Five Points neighborhood. The city will share project updates and the results of a recently conducted visual preference survey during a community meeting at 6:30 pm on Wednesday, June 26 at Greater Works Church.
