This is a two-day whirl wind tour of the intensive process of mold making utilizing simple open-face kiln casting. Students will build their own high-temp mold to melt solid glass into, creating one of a kind glass sculptures! Day one, students will sculpt a clay positive and learn the basics of making your first high temperature plaster and silica mold. Day two consists of de-molding clay, loading the molds into the kiln, and an explanation of kiln firing schedules. Once castings are cooled off, students will come back to pick up their finished artwork!
