8th Annual Asheville Marathon & Half at Biltmore Estate

Update: The 8th Annual Asheville Marathon & Half at Biltmore Estate has been canceled due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19 (coronavirus).

The annual Asheville Marathon & Half races return to the Biltmore Estate on Saturday, March 21, and Sunday, March 22.

Runners will wind through paved and packed dirt roads to see hardwood forest, meadows, gardens, and extraordinary views of the Biltmore House and Estate. Runners will get to explore the west side of the Estate, which is unique terrain only experienced in this marathon. Described as a boutique style race where everyone fits in, the Asheville Marathon & Half is a bucket list must do.

In 2018, the Asheville Marathon was named by Outside Online as one of the Top 9 vacation-worthy marathons and the top ten best spring and summer marathons to run by MapMyRun. It was also listed as one of the 70 American road races every runner should finish by Runner’s World Magazine.

While other marathons and halves present you with monotonous scenes of asphalt, steel, and glass, the marathon course around Biltmore provide depth and diversification: from the marvels of gardening and architecture that is the Estate itself, to lesser tamed, more challenging stretches that lie at the end of the race, along the rustic banks of the French Broad River. Enjoy this boutique race with all it’s historic surroundings.

Joining the excitement this year, Founder of our Charity Partner, Brave Like Gabe, and pro runner Gabe Grunewald will be running the Half Marathon and speaking at the pre-event dinner on Friday, March 15.  Tickets are limited and can be purchased when registering and at the Asheville Marathon website.

This is the original Asheville Marathon and first race of its kind to come to Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina; don’t miss out on being part of history at Biltmore Estate.

Visit ashevillemarathon.com for additional information and to pre-register now. The races are also in need of volunteers!
