Local Athlete Wins at Senior Games State Finals

Kaye Bentley from Asheville won a gold medal in the Football Throw competition with a perfect score, and a bronze medal in the Discus Throw Competition at the 2025 North Carolina Senior Games State Finals, held in Raleigh and Cary, September 15-21.

Bentley qualified at the annual 2025 Asheville-Buncombe Senior Games this past Spring. Asheville-Buncombe Senior Games is part of a statewide network of 54 local programs sanctioned by North Carolina Senior Games, Inc. NCSG is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing year-round health promotion and education for adults 50 years of age and better.

NCSG is a statewide nonprofit organization sponsored by the North Carolina Division of Aging and Adult Services. The Gold Sponsor of State Finals for 2025 is the Seniors’ Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP); Silver Sponsor is UNC Healthcare. Bronze Sponsors are North Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino & Resort, and Wellcare.
