Black Mountain Montessori School is a diverse educational community that is built on the principles of intrinsic motivation, self-directed learning, and social responsibility. The school’s developmentally appropriate approach has been designed to fit each individual child, instead of making the child fit the program. It places an emphasis on community involvement through a partnership with local colleges, community gardens, and the arts.
Day Camps
Make friends, strengthen self-confidence/performance ability, and have a blast learning choreography, scenes and songs from hit musicals and movies. Spots will fill up fast! Camp fees between $185 and $350 based on age. Themes for 2025: Wicked, Moana 2, Taylor Swift, Dog Man, Newsies, Dance Intensives.
Falling Creek is a traditional summer camp for boys, founded on Christian values. It is located on over 900 private mountaintop acres in western North Carolina, 20 minutes from Hendersonville. Sessions range from one to four weeks for rising 1st through 12th grade boys, with Father/Son Weekends. In addition to the classic camp activities, campers can choose a variety of out-of-camp adventure trips.
Carolina Day School offers over eighty different week-long sessions in arts, nature, hiking, sports, academics, science, theater, dance, and more! Ages: rising pre-k through twelfth-graders.
Themes each week: arts & crafts, games, field trips. Ages 5-11. June 12th – August 18th.

The Movers and Shakers Summer Camp promotes the same values that are the cornerstone of Asheville Community Movement: teaching kids to be independent and conscientious community members within a fun and safe environment. We try to nurture the individual passions of our campers by devoting each week to themes that foster community spirit and sustainable living.
Each Pre-College program runs from Sunday to Friday, with topics spanning the arts and sciences. All students live on campus to fully experience university life and the surrounding community, and the program cost, which starts at $1,430, includes lodging, meals, course materials, activities and excursions.
Timberlake offers traditional camping with an outstanding Christian staff. riding, backpacking, tennis, climbing, wrestling, paintball, archery, waterskiing, riflery, mountain biking, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, guitar, soccer, volleyball, ropes course, fencing, rafting, and much more are available. Timberlake is the brother camp to Merri-Mac for Girls.
