The Asheville Area Arts Council (AAAC) is excited to announce a new panel at the 8th annual Creative Sector Summit: “Rhyme or Reason: Measuring Patterns of Growth.” The Summit, held at The Grey Eagle on Friday, April 20, 2018 from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm, is presented by the Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority.
As an essential part of the program, the panel and discussion “Understand Your Impact on the Local Economy,” will be led by individuals from AAAC, Center for Craft, City of Asheville, River Arts District Artists, and Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce. Panelists will communicate the value of recent creative sector economic impact studies, share the newly acquired Creative Vitality Suite snap shot data, and open the floor for others in our community to participate.
This panel will cover various arts-related efforts and studies that have been recently completed or are currently underway. This includes an economic impact study of the area’s music industry, preliminary data from a feasibility assessment for affordable spaces for artists, makers, performers, and creatives, and the economic vitality of our non-profit and for-profit art and culture industries.
