Klaus Störtebeker. Remember that name. Not because he was a 14th century German pirate who pillaged merchant ships in the Baltic Sea. And not because after being captured and tried for piracy with his crew, he negotiated the release of as many as he could walk past, after being beheaded. His head lopped off, this dude strolled on by 11 of his crew before reality caught up to him on the 12th stride. No, you should remember his name for this: Störtebeker roughly translates to “empty the mug in one gulp.” So, in tribute to the 11 men that were executed, plus 1 for good ol’ Klaus, we present our Baltic Porter: 13 Paces. Yes, we one-upped the legend himself.
