Three Funk Bands. One Day! M&M Heating and Cooling presents Funk Fest 2018 with Aaron Mills Project, Lyric, and The Funk Attack Band, coming to the Thomas Wolfe Auditorium on Saturday, October 6th at 6:30pm.

Legendary bassist of funk band Cameo and Asheville native Aaron Mills is a renowned bassist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Mills joined Cameo in 1978 as bassist and in 1985 the group recorded Word Up, the title track of which became a hit, peaking at No.6 on the Billboard Hot 100. The album reached platinum status and opened doors for collaborations with Miles Davis and Stevie Ray Vaughan.

In 2000, Mills joined sound engineer Shy Boy in the studio of Atlanta Hip-Hop duo OutKast to record a bass line for “Ms. Jackson” and “So Fresh, So Clean.” He also played bass on eight other tracks on Stankonia and Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, including Grammy-winning singles “The Whole World” and “Hey Ya!”

Mills is excited to have a chance to perform in his hometown of Asheville for Funk Fest 2018. He will perform his new single “Independent”, and songs from Cameo along with bands Lyric and The Funk Attack Band.
