It’s back! It’s time for the WNC DEC Lunch + Learn Series and we have great discussion and interactive workshops lined up for you – for FREE.
First session launches on Wednesday, August 15th, and ends on Wednesday, October 17th. We will be meeting in Asheville, starting promptly at 11:30am and ending at 1pm. This series focuses on taking a deeper dive in diversity, equity, and inclusion in context of professional and organizational advancement.
The classes are focused on unpacking tough topics and framing conversations with historical context so that participants leave with tools, strategies and a deeper understanding of application.
Series Schedule
SESSION 1: Diversity. | Wednesday, August 15, 2018 | Location to be announced.
OVERVIEW: Is diversity an irrelevant term? In this session, we will work toward moving from diversity initiatives to inclusive leadership using song, and narrative to develop a positive message.
SESSION 2: Equity. | Wednesday, September 19, 2018 | Location to be announced.
OVERVIEW: What is the difference between equality and equity? In this session, we will explore how and social justice at the community level interests with retention at the organizational level.
SESSION 3: Inclusion. | Wednesday, October 17, 2018 | Location to be announced.
OVERVIEW: What does it mean to truly create an inclusive work environment? How can people of color be more integrated into leadership roles and decision-making? Are people of color in your organization more than data and statistics to report on? In this session, we get real and strategize.
Lunch will be provided and space is limited. Registration is required.
