| Diseases like measles, mumps and pertussis are not a thing of the past. These serious and deadly diseases are vaccine-preventable but have been making a resurgence in the US in recent years, mainly in communities with higher rates of unimmunized people. Buncombe County consistently leads the state in the percentage of kindergartners who have not received all of their required immunizations, putting our children and community at risk of an outbreak. The purpose of this event is to inform and mobilize the community to increase immunization uptake in Western North Carolina. | ||
