NEW SHUT-IN WEBSITE IS IN THE WORKS!
DUE TO THE UNCERTAINTY OF HOSTING EVENTS THIS FALL BECAUSE OF COVID-19, THE 2020 SHUT-IN RIDGE TRAIL RACE IS TENTATIVELY SET FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 7.  ONCE WE KNOW IF THE RACE WILL OCCUR, WE WILL PUT UP INFORMATION ON OUR NEW WEBPAGE.

Now in its 41st year, this is a 17.8-mile trail race conducted over the historic Shut-In Ridge Trail that begins at Bent Creek near Asheville, NC and climbs over 5,000 feet along the ridgeline of the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Mt. Pisgah parking lot. The race is the first Saturday of November, and begins at the North Carolina Arboretum’s Visitor Education Center. Enter from Highway 191 at the entrance ramp for the Blue Ridge Parkway.
