90 United Way Volunteers Beautify Enka Middle

Hands On Asheville-Buncombe, the volunteer center at United Way, provided project development/management and worked as onsiteNTCA volunteers coordinator for an all day volunteer project for employees of NTCA to work on site at Enka Middle school.

Approximately 90 NTCA employees collectively volunteered 400 hours on Tuesday, October 28, 2014. Volunteer teams worked on various projects at the school including sprucing up the Enka Jet area, mulching various areas at the school, painting indoors and outdoors, deep cleaning classrooms, building/assembling picnic tables, raised bed gardens, benches and other items. Volunteers also assisted teachers in the classroom by organizing classroom libraries, creating educational sets, and cataloging instructional supplies.

Not only did NTCA help with the labor to accomplish these projects, but they also donated funds for half the supplies. The other half of the supplies were paid for by a Lowes Toolbox for Education grant.

We are very grateful that NTCA has committed an entire work day to volunteering at Enka Middle to create a welcoming environment and that they provided supports for supplies.
