It’s Another Promotion Packed Season of Tourists Baseball

The Asheville Tourists 2017 home opener, the first of seventy games at McCormick Field, takes place on April 13th at 7:05 pm against the Greenville Drive.

This season’s home portion on the schedule is packed with great promotions, fan giveaway items, and family friendly entertainment at the ballpark. Fans may purchase tickets to specific games in person at the McCormick Field ServPro Box Office, over the phone by calling (828) 258-0428, or online at www.TheAshevilleTourists.com.

The price of Premium Box seats, Box seats, Reserve seats, Press Row seats and Bojangles Dugout Suite seats remain the same as last year. The Tourists are also proud to announce that for the eighth consecutive year a day of game General Admission ticket remains at $8 for an adult and $7 for kids ages 6-12.

Six of the eleven Saturday contests at McCormick Field will feature a different Tourists Jersey giveaway. In addition, on Saturday April 29, a talking Rick Rice Bobble Head presented by Coca-Cola will be passed out to fans entering the ballpark. Rick spent the last 18 years as the Public Address Announcer at McCormick Field prior to passing the torch after the 2016 season. On Saturday, June 24 a limited edition Trevor Story Bobble Head presented by Harry’s on the Hill will be handed out to the first 1,000 fans in attendance. Trevor Story captained the Asheville Tourists infield during the 2012 Championship Season and clubbed a National League Rookie Shortstop record 27 Home Runs in 2016. Trevor is the only player in Major League Baseball history to hit six Home Runs in his team’s first four games.

In addition to the Trevor Story Bobble Head presented by Harry’s on the Hill, those in attendance on June 24 will be entertained by the fan-favorite ZOOperstars! Also, on Saturday July 29, Saved by the Bell’s Dennis Haskins, also known as Mr. Belding, will show his Tourists spirit by greeting fans and signing autographs at the ballpark.

Friday nights will provide extra entertainment when the sky lights up with Fireworks after nine of the Tourists eleven scheduled contests. Additional fireworks shows are planned for Tuesday, July 4 and Sunday, September 3. On Friday May 12, the first 1,000 fans through the gate will receive a complimentary T-Shirt presented by Blossman Gas. In addition to post-game fireworks, every Friday will feature $1 Hot Dogs presented by Blossman Gas and Mix 96.5.

Sundays are once again Ingles Family Fun days at the ballpark. Following the conclusion of the games kids are welcome to run the bases and line up in front of Asheville’s dugout to receive autographs from the Tourists players. Ingles Family Fun Day excludes September 3.

Monday nights are Kids Eat Free nights presented by Acropolis Pizza. All kids 12 and under will receive a coupon upon entering the gate for a complimentary hot dog and a small beverage.

Tuesday home games are the perfect night to bring a friend to the ballpark. Courtesy of Ingles, General Admission tickets are “Buy-One-Get-One-Free” when fans show their Ingles Advantage Card. Tuesdays will once again feature Seniors Eat Free Night presented by Haywood Regional Medical Center. Seniors 65 & up will receive a coupon for a complimentary hot dog and small beverage when they walk through the gates. Excluded dates for both Tuesday promotions include May 16 and July 4.

Complimentary tickets are available on Wednesday night home games courtesy of Goodwill. Fans that bring three new or gently used clothing items to the ballpark for donation will receive a Free General Admission ticket. The Goodwill promotion will not extend to fans on Wednesday, May 24.

Thursdays at the ballpark will once again feature Thirsty Thursday’s presented by Catawba Brewing and 105.9 The Mountain. Regular Beers and Coke products are only $1 while Craft Beers are $2.
