Simple Steps to Help Homeless Pets

There are more pets in this country in need of homes than there are shelters able to house them. Pet overpopulation leads to millions of adoptable pets euthanized across the country every year.

But there are simple steps you can take to help decrease this number:

  • Always spay and neuter your pets.
  • Always adopt your pets from a legitimate shelter or nonprofit rescue group – like the Asheville Humane Society.
  • Remember, pets are a lifetime commitment. Consider all the responsibilities and consequences of pet ownership before deciding to adopt.
  • Help spread the word about pet overpopulation, adoption, and the importance of spaying neutering.
