The popular author, inventor, and television host returns to Asheville on Monday, April 1 at Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. The event will focus on extreme weather and climate change, and will be moderated by Greta Johnson of WBEZ Chicago.
This event will kick off climate week in Asheville as the start of the Climate City Expo, a 10-day celebration of Asheville’s creativity and commitment to climate change awareness and action.
“Americans are experiencing extreme weather events that feel different from what we’ve experienced in the past,” says Josh Dorfman, CEO of The Collider. “How to think about extreme weather and climate change and what to do about it is exactly the conversation we should be having. Bill Nye’s lifelong dedication to communicating science in ways that are highly entertaining and readily understood makes him a wonderful speaker to help us all gain greater clarity into the urgency of this moment.”
Tickets start at $37, and there are VIP packages available with The Collider. The Asheville non-profit focuses on market-driven climate change solutions. The package includes preferred seating, an autographed custom Bill Nye poster, and a backstage meet and greet with photo opportunity after the event.
Tickets are available at the U.S. Cellular Center Box Office, online at Ticketmaster.com, and by phone at 800-745-3000.
