Eden Rock Breaks Ground on Affordable Single-family Home Community in Mars Hill

Eden Rock Enterprises plans to develop the 27.5-acre property in Mars Hill to serve the increasing need for affordable single-family housing in the area.

That community, named Rock Creek, is located in north Mars Hill, just 1.3 miles from Mars Hill University, only 3-4 minutes from Interstate 26, and just 20 miles from downtown Asheville. Infrastructure construction is underway and the first of three home-construction phases is set to begin.

With the first homes slated to complete early next year, Rock Creek will offer three bedroom/two bath homes in a variety of floor plans ranging 1280-1600 square feet. Prices for these on-site, stick-built homes begin in the mid-$230s.

This is ERE’s first planned community in Madison County and will create close to 100 new homes. The company worked extensively with Mars Hill officials to create a new medium-density zone which allows for municipal services like public water and sewer while maintaining sufficient personal space and privacy.

Madison County is growing in both population and popularity. Rock Creek provides affordable land-home packages for families seeking to own their own home in a safe neighborhood, a community rich with heritage and in a region well-known for its four-season living. Brandon Quinn, general contractor and owner of ERE, says,”With the strength of the workforce in this community and the easy access to the main transportation corridor, this is not only a great opportunity for ERE, but also for the families who choose to make Rock Creek Village home.”
