Sheriff Quentin Miller and the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office invite residents to attend the Spring 2024 Sheriff’s Academy.
The Sheriff’s Academy will run from March 5 to April 30, meeting each week except for April 1 to April 5, which is Buncombe County Schools and Asheville City Schools’ spring break.
The Academy will provide an overview of operations at Western North Carolina’s largest law enforcement agency. Sessions will be held on Tuesday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided during the two-hour sessions. Sessions will be at the Sheriff’s Office locations, 60 Court Plaza and Leicester Crossing, at 339 Leicester Highway in Asheville.
This is an excellent opportunity for participants to learn firsthand about the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office. We will offer guided tours, and subject matter experts from the Sheriff’s Office will answer your questions. The BCSO Academy is mirrored by the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy.
The application period will end on February 16, 2024, at 5 pm. All applicants must be at least 18 years old and be approved to attend.Participants with a significant criminal history will not be able to participate.
