ArtsvilleUSA has partnered with Art Connections and tour director Sherry Masters to offer a specialized tour to working artists’ studios to meet and see the work of leading glass artists.

The Glass +1 tour adds a second studio artist to each tour, making this a particularly insightful half-day experience on Wednesday and Friday mornings from April through October.

The Glass+1 Studio Tour is designed to bring inbound visitors to meet our artists and see their work by traveling to Asheville. As a half-day, 2.5 hour add-on experience, coupled with the new Chihuly at Biltmore exhibit to take place in an intimate indoor setting on the Estate, visitors will marvel at the creative forces that honor the fact that Chihuly first embraced his astounding craft right here in the Blue Ridge. This tour is booked directly with Art Connections at https://www.arttoursasheville.com.

Think glass + ceramic, glass + fiber, or glass + painting. The aim is to feature local glass artists as well as introduce tour goers to the greater arts scene and outstanding creative talent in the Asheville area.

Glass artists on the roster include Alex Bernstein, Carl Powell, Brad Smith, Robert Stephan and Hayden Wilson. The “+1” artists are professionals in other mediums who regularly work with Art Connections including: ChadAlice Hagen, Leonid Siveriver, Amy Medford, Tom Reardon, Kathleen Doyle, Janice Schmidt and many more. The artists visited on any given tour is predetermined by Masters and dependent upon the artists’ availability.

For enthusiasts eager to explore more glass or other artists in the region, Art Connections encourages customized half-day or full-day tours, catering to individual or group interests and preferences.

Sherry Masters, a native of Western North Carolina, brings over twenty-five years of experience in the Asheville fine craft and art scene, forming Art Connections in 2012 to offer visitors a more personal and immersive experience with handmade art.
