The Spring Litter Sweep is Here

Did you know that there are 80,000 miles of state-maintained roads in North Carolina?

Even with crews and contractors from the N.C. Department of Transportation working almost every day of the year, the state is still fighting to keep our roadsides litter free.

In 2023, the NC DOT picked up more than 11 million pounds of litter from roadsides and so far this year they’ve collected 2.2 million pounds of litter. The simple truth is they can’t keep up with the amount of litter that gets created.  This is where they need your help!
