Buncombe County Animal Shelter
The Buncombe County Animal Shelter will be closed Monday, May 27. Please note the Animal Shelter does not operate the same hours as the Adoption Center. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all recognized Buncombe County holidays. On holidays, the shelter runs an emergency schedule, opening for 15 minutes only at 9 a.m., noon, and 3 p.m. For information about the Adoption Center, visit https://www.ashevillehumane.org/.
Buncombe County Board of Elections
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 27.
City/County Bureau of Identification
The City/County Bureau of Identification administrative office will be closed Monday, May 27. An appointment is required for all fingerprint services.
Buncombe County Courthouse
Buncombe County courts observe the North Carolina Judicial Branch holiday schedule and will be closed Monday, May 27.
Emergency Services & Public Safety Communications
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 27. EMS and 911 maintain normal operations.
Family Justice Center
The Family Justice Center will be closed Monday, May 27. You can find 24-hour hotline information on our website.
Health & Human Services
All BCHHS offices including the Immunization Clinic will be closed Monday, May 27.
Libraries
All Buncombe County public libraries, per their normal schedule, are closed on Monday, May 27. Access our digital resources at buncombecounty.org/library.
Mountain Mobility
Mountain Mobility is only operating ADA paratransit service on Monday, May 27. No other trips will be served.
Register of Deeds
The Buncombe County Register of Deeds will be closed Monday, May 27. Online services will remain available.
Parks & Recreation
Administrative offices are closed on Monday, May 27. All Buncombe County parks are open regular hours on Monday, May 27. All five Buncombe County outdoor pools are open on Saturday, May 25 through Monday, May 27. Starting on June 11, the pools will be open seven days a week.
Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office
Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office front desk will be closed Monday, May 27. All other operations will be on a normal schedule.
Solid Waste
Buncombe County Landfill and Transfer Station will be closed Monday, May 27.
Tax Collections/Property Assessment
Administrative offices will be closed Monday, May 27.
Waste Pro
Waste Pro will be closed Monday, May 27 and will operate on a one-day collection delay for the rest of the week. (Monday collection on Tuesday, etc.)
