CALLING WOMEN LEADERS
You may be interested in the Legacy Club because you are a woman who either owns your own business or takes part in a leadership role in the community and feel that you have a personal impact story, big or small, that could positively influence the high school girls in our community. You may already be working with high school girls and are interested in partnering in some way to bring about even more change. You also may understand the dire need for adult women leaders to mentor high school girls in the skills that truly give them the best chance of reaching their full potential in college, career and adult life.
The nonprofit organization i.b.mee. is hosting a World Cafe conversation about what our next generation of female leaders need to be successful. The goal is to further design and implement a sustainable school and community leadership program that culminates in a week-long summer experience at Western Carolina University. During this conversation, i.b.mee. will share leadership strategies that they use in their high school program that make the biggest changes. Foundations: Body Shapes, Sizes & Parts: love ’em, hate ’em, livin’ with ’em.
We are so much more than these bodies, and at the same time, these bodies are the alter of the temple of life. We have been taught to run negative tapes about our bodies, and it steals our time, energy, money and power. It’s time to reclaim our bodies, which might be one of the most radical acts we can do in changing the world.
In this class we will:
celebrate and appreciate the brilliance of these bodies
unpack the cultural and familial messages around bodies, shapes, sizes and parts.
release shame we hold around our bodies, learning to accept all of ourselves, even the part that might hate my thighs.
and make steady progress to give these bodies and our lives the attention and appreciation they deserve.
STARTS April
5 Mondays from 5:00 – 6:30 EST
Limited to 20 women per session
Run via Zoom Conference Video (phones are acceptable.)
Daily Group Dialogues and Support

We’ve been talking to the folks from Bardic Alchemy, a Celtic Rock band from Asheville and they’ve agreed to play at Triskelion as many Tuesdays as they can come down to the Brewery.
Bardic Alchemy is a brand new element in the Celtic Rock world. This trio, based in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina is comprised of multi-instrumentalist Connell Sanderson, guitarist Nick Marcone and percussionist and vocalist Tyler Watts.
Bardic Alchemy is best described as a psychedelic trip into a musical world that is heavily inspired by the Celtic musical traditions…run through various effects pedals. Everything from soothing, mellifluously reverberating whistle melodies supported by groovy guitar lines and thumping djembe beats to high energy dance tunes on the Scottish and Irish pipes to three part vocal harmonies and even improvised pieces, Bardic Alchemy is a surprisingly dynamic and unpredictable musical journey.
So… Tuesdays… will now be…
Celtic Rock Tuesday!

CLASSES
7pm: Discussion/Lecture: History of Lindy Hop w/Jean
You’ve taken the classes, you’ve got the steps, but your knowledge of lindy hop stops right around there. Let’s fix that. Starting with Charleston and the Jenkins Orphanage Marching Band, we will spend this hour talking about where lindy came from, where it was hiding out until the swing revival of the 1990s, and who put in the work to keep it alive. This class will be discussion/lecture-style, so grab a drink at the bar and come ready to listen and learn…We’ve got about 100 years to cover.
“Continuing” classes are for those dancers who have cemented the basics of the dance being featured that specific month. This includes knowing (and being able to execute cleanly and consistently) basic footwork and lead/follow skills for that dance. Some continuing classes may require no advance knowledge of a dance. This will be noted in the the class description.
*******************
8 pm: Charleston/Jitterbug w/ Jean & Karolina
This month we will be doing beginner partnered Charleston, which is perfect for faster songs and a great way to start dancing. Focusing mostly on side-by-side 30s style, we will also add in some jitterbug steps and turns to give your dancing a little more variety and swing. No partner necessary! You’ll get to dance with everyone.
“Core” lessons stress the fundamentals of swing dancing for beginning dancers. Lessons rotate monthly to focus on a different kind of swing dance (6 Count Lindy, 8 Count Lindy, Charleston, Balboa, etc.). Because good fundamentals are hard to develop in one month, we recommend repeating Core lessons (on the same topic) to help develop the solid foundation you’ll need in continuing classes. Core lessons are also great for intermediate and advanced dancers who want to “get back to basics” or learn a different dancing role (lead vs. follow).

GIFT CERTIFICATES
Do you want to buy a gift certificate for our classes as a gift, or to pre-pay for a block of classes for yourself? You can purchase gift certificates at the door at our weekly dance! They are $40 for a block of 4, and a great way to dive into the fun world of dance.

Straight No Chaser has had an amazing decade. In that time, the group has sold more than 1.6 million albums in the US and amassed more than 100 million YouTube views thanks to tightly arranged songs, impeccable vocal harmonies, and a healthy sense of humor.
So much of what Straight No Chaser has done over the past 10 years is the stuff of dreams. They’ve collaborated with Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and Dolly Parton, to name a few. They’ve performed on national TV early in the morning on Today and long after dark on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. They’ve toured North America, Europe, and Australia, and consistently rank among Pollstar’s top 100 touring acts in North America.
Ten years after turning a collegiate hobby into a recording career that has taken them around the world on tour, the a cappella group tells its story through music on One Shot. Their seventh LP features 16 genre-spanning songs and 10 entertaining conversational interludes, as the members of Straight No Chaser trace their unlikely rise from an undergraduate singing group at Indiana University to a beloved Atlantic Records act with a devoted international fanbase.
