Monthly Gong Meditation
Dec 29 @ 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm
The Shift Studio

$15 Suggested Donation. Please register online: www.theshiftstudio.com/register

The gong impacts the body and its meridians. It releases blocks, reduces tension and stimulates circulation. The result of this is a reorganization of the emotional energy and feelings that are tied into the body structure.

The gong changes the feelings that are blocked by cutting the thoughts that sustain and recreate the feelings. As a person comes back to normal, they notice a great difference between their current bodily feelings and the ones they are used to. This can be frightening, arousing, exciting or delightful. That will depend on the individual.

We will stretch, meditate and bathe in the sound of the gong to release ,relax and restore our being.

New Year’s Sound Bath
Dec 29 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm
OM Sanctuary

This New Year’s Sound Bath lead by Billy Zanski, will help to slow the breath, and shift the brainwaves. As the powerful sound waves wash over the participants’ bodies, stress and worry dissipates, and the mind’s thoughts move into the background. Focusing on the landscape of peaceful sounds helps to activate the deep intelligence within the body and spirit. Billy opens up space for others to feel expanded, connected, and held in peace. Opening participants up to a greater perspective, inviting subtle shifts and healing to happen spontaneously.

Billy Zanski is an enthusiastic teacher, musician, and “helper in healing”. Sound healing and taking percussion into the realm of therapy has become the cornerstone of his sound shop Skinny Beats in Asheville. Billy has developed a mix of rhythmic and deep harmonic frequencies, from seeking out and learning from teachers across the globe. Here are some of the instruments used for each session: planetary gongs, gemstone and crystal (alchemy) bowls, West African harp, didgeridoo, handpan, and many other special instruments. 12 Dates of Christmas
Dec 29 @ 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
North Carolina Stage Company

After seeing her fiancé on TV kissing another woman at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mary’s life falls apart — just in time for the holidays. Over the next year, she stumbles back into the dating world, where “romance” ranges from weird and creepy to absurd and comical. It seems nothing can help Mary’s growing cynicism, until the charm and innocence of a five-year-old boy unexpectedly brings a new outlook on life and love. This heartwarming one woman show offers a hilarious and modern alternative to the old standards of the holiday season.
