Leicester History Gathering, meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 7pm.  Different local history topic discussed each month.

Tammy Billups will be presenting her new book, Soul Healing with Our Animal Companions: The Hidden Keys to a Deeper Animal-Human Connection at Malaprops Bookstore/Cafe on May 19, 2018 at 6PM with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

This book:

• Explains the unspoken connection between people and their animal companions and how they share the same energetic patterns and emotional wounds

• Outlines specific behavioral traits and physical issues that animals may exhibit as they mirror their caregiver’s emotional state of being

• Explores holistic modalities humans can employ, such as energy therapy, to promote healing in animals and ultimately themselves

Beginner’s workshop lesson at 7:30 P.M., then 8-11 P.M. Contra Dance with Country Waltzing at the break and the final dance. This is a partner dance but it’s not necessary to come with a partner. We have different live bands and callers.

At the heart of Girls on the Run are amazing volunteers whose commitment and passion impact the lives of thousands of girls each year. The 5K Course is a 3.1 mile course around the Asheville Outlets and Ridgefield Business Park. The 5K participants will pass a water stop on mile 1 and on mile 2. Cheer Teams will also be placed along the course to cheer on the girls and 5K participants.

The Merrell Adventure Dash is all about getting outside and challenging yourself to work hard for your good time. Suitable for families as well as adults, participants will negotiate a series of natural and man-made obstacles along the 5K course, including balance components, climbs and nets, a river-run, and raft crossing. This holiday weekend, enjoy a fun, family-friendly adventure run in the beautiful Nantahala Gorge. Merrell Adventure Dash participants can choose between the 5K dash or a 1K fun run. Kids aged 12 and under race free with a participating adult. All race participants will receive Merrell swag, but those who register before May 10th will also receive the official race t-shirt!

Remember to wear anything you don’t mind getting dirty!
