The AAAC will be hosting Board Certified Trial Lawyer, Dana LeJune, for a workshop on Copyright Infringement.
LeJune will be discussing the importance of protecting intellectual property, what is considered copying, and how to find out if your artwork has been knocked off.
He will also dispel myths about copyright law as well as explain the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and the penalties against infringers who remove the copyright management information on artwork.

Intimate Cacao Ceremonies at Blomkraft Studio through the Holiday Season!
Sacred Cacao is about reviving the ancient use of cocoa as a ceremonial plant medicine used to facilitate heart opening & connection, but without leaving you with a hangover! Ceremony is a time to step outside of the busyness of life and connect with your inner self. In this workshop we will sit together for 2 hours drinking a chocolate brew made from ceremonial grade Guatemalan cacao mixed with traditional herbs & spices. There will be invocations for opening sacred space as well as music-mantra, devotional chanting & sound healing with bowls, bells & a harmonium. You will be given the chance to share any area of your life where you are seeking healing & a greater sense of wholeness. You will then be able to relax & journey with the cacao & music into a space of healing. Participants will learn about cacao & the benefits of ceremony, as well as experience the unique healing portal that is Asheville! Includes live music, guided meditation & heart sharing.

*All games girls start at 4:30 and boys after that around 5:30. The girls usually warm-up around 3:45. Try to get in 5th quarter for girls before the girls game and after the girls game for the boys 5th quarter. This is only if the teams have enough players and both agree to it.

These people are frontally challenging our corporate state; thereby saving nature and themselves. Thomas Linzey, a nonprofit attorney’s inspiring words shows how, we, the people, can turn this around and lay claim to our democracy. This movement is building as you read this, not just in this country but around the world; this film shows how and where it all began.

Join us for another potluck where we continue to build relationships centered on dismantling white supremacy within ourselves & our community. This month we’ll be breaking into some brainstorming/conversation groups around 3 projects we’d like to pursue: 1. formation of Poor and Working class Caucus for Racial Justice; 2. exploration of idea of Canvassing Asheville and Beyond focused on racial justice issues; and perhaps 3. those interested in helping support the relaunch of our Accountability through Action meetings as part of our Community Potlucks (in alternate months).
At this month’s potluck, we’ll continue to raise funds to support the amazing work of CoThinkk, a giving circle investing in black & latinx leadership & community organizing focused on improving the social & economic welfare of communities of color in Asheville & WNC.

Lake Julian Festival of Lights has become a tradition for many mountain families and visitors. The driving-only tour includes thousands of dazzling lights and displays placed along a magical journey on the road circling Lake Julian Park.
Lake Julian Festival of Lights takes place nightly from December 2-23. Want to experience the show by foot? Lights by the Lake Stroll Night is on Saturday, December 1. Please check our Facebook event page for information on any closings due to winter weather.

The Asheville Marathon and Half Training Group will have weekly technique and Hill Training on Thursday evenings at 6pm at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Parking Lot – OLLI – UNCA.
Each workout will last one hour. During these workout sessions we will be doing some hill interval training (everyone’s favorite) to improve your hill technique as well as your conditioning.
