Building Connections That Matter
Apr 1 @ 11:30 am – 1:00 pm
Strada Italiano

Join us as we build connections that matter to build our businesses.

Laura Crago shares about herself and her business during our Member Share. Let’s be honest, we all work hard for our money… how should we be protecting it is just one question to ask… but more importantly who do we trust to work with us to protect our money. Getting to know someone on a deeper level… yep, that’s what we do…

Want to come as a guest… yes please… want to be a part of the WOAMTEC… join WOAMTEC today.

We meet upstairs at Strada and enjoy a delicious lunch (pay your server) while getting to know members and guests.

If you are ready to take your business and networking to the next level, WOAMTEC is for you.

Visit as a guest twice before becoming a member.

RSVP or ask questions about a membership to Dannie Frey, Executive Director of the Asheville chapter [email protected] or 828-424-0113.

Why WOAMTEC?

For most women, having a connection is important for all aspects of one’s life… that is the most important component of WOAMTEC. Letting women serious about building their business have an opportunity to go deeper in finding who they want to do business with and allow others to know why they need to do business with them.

Since I started WOAMTEC in Asheville I have used Lacey Townsend to buy my new home. Gloria Berlin to insure my new home and cars. Alaina Gelineau to address my chiropractic needs. Alicia Albee to pamper my skin with healthy products and my Christmas gift needs. Julieta Fumberg supplied incredible postcards for my previous business (now I’m an Associate Director for Western Women’s Business Center) and a beautiful gift for my daughter in law… I’m working with Stacy Vajta on a kick off of a new program for WWBC… Ellen McNeil is enjoying her Best Year Yet through WWBC’s program…

And that is just since October… and just some of what is happening with me and so much more is going on between other members…

You want quick passing and collecting business cards… this may not be for you… but you want to build a solid referral base and clients and friends invested in building your business as they build their’s…

You don’t want to miss this opportunity to build connections that matter.

FREE 8-Week Evidence-Based Falls Prevention Program

Registration Required – Spaces are Limited

Many older adults experience a fear of falling. People who develop this fear often limit their activities, which can result in physical weakness, making the risk of falling even greater. A Matter of Balance is a program designed to reduce the fear of falling and increase activity levels among older adults. It includes 8 two-hour sessions for a small group of 8-12 participants led by a trained facilitator. This nationally recognized program was developed at the Roybal Center at Boston University.

Who should attend?

The program is designed to benefit older adults who:

Are concerned about falls

Have sustained falls in the past

Restrict activities because of concerns about falling

Are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength

Are age 60 or older, community-dwelling and able to problem solve

What do participants learn?

The program enables participants to achieve significant goals. They gain confidence by learning to:

View falls as controllable

Set goals for increasing activity

Make changes to reduce fall risk at home

Equal Pay Day!
Apr 2 @ 8:00 am – Apr 6 @ 9:00 pm
Trade and Lore Coffee

Join MomsRising, Main Street Alliance, and Just Economics at Trade and Lore Coffee on April 2nd, Equal Pay Day!

Equal Pay Day – April 2nd – is right around the corner and marks how far into 2019 women have to work to earn what white men were paid in 2018 alone. Women overall make just 80 cents for every dollar paid to white men and women of color and moms experience wage hits on top of that.

To mark the day and spread awareness about the punitive gender wage gap and possible solutions, like paid family and medical leave, MomsRising and Main Street Alliance created custom coffee sleeves and napkins for coffee shops across the nation to use on Equal Pay Day.

Show your support for equal pay and paid leave by stopping by Trade and Lore Coffee on Equal Pay Day – April 2nd!

Safety Has A Name – Name our Safety Around Water Mascot
Apr 2 @ 8:00 am – 8:00 pm
Reuter Family YMCA

Parker, Paxton or Piper? What should the name of our new mascot be for our Safety Around Water (SAW) program at the Reuter Family YMCA? Donate to the Annual Campaign to push your name to the top. We will announce the name May 1 at our next SAW program. Teaching children how to be safe around water is not a luxury; it’s a necessity. The YMCA’s Safety Around Water program can help make sure children learn essential water safety skills, which can open up a world of possibilities for them to satisfy their curiosity safely. Safety Around Water is not a traditional swim lesson. This eight-day course, taught by a certified instructor, teaches children two sets of skills that will reduce the risk of drowning and give them confidence in and around water. Support giving children skills for a lifetime today. https://www.ymcawnc.org/programs/swimming/drowning-prevention
