PEELANDER-Z, the Japanese Action Comic Punk Band based in NYC, was originally formed in 1998 by Peelander-Yellow, Peelander-Red, and Peelander-Blue, after meeting in New York City (although they’ll tell you they’re all from the Z area on the planet Peelander). Peelander-Green was welcomed in July 2008 after Blue left the band.
Peelander–Z has appeared at major music festivals including Bonnaroo and the Vans Warped Tour and has also been featured on TV programs such as VH1’s “Best Week Ever” and Comedy Central’s “Upright Citizens Brigade” among others. The band has also been covered by SPIN, Rolling Stone, Village Voice, NPR and The Onion among many others.
At its live shows, Peelander–Z guarantees intense audience participation and a chance to exercise. You’ll see the band in colorful costumes reminiscent of Japanese anime, though they describe their outfits as their skin. You’ll also see The Red Squid, human bowling and all around insanity. A Peelander–Z performance is a rare occasion for the entire family to rock out and have a great time.
DR AQUEOUS AND THE FANTASTIK APPARATUS, has been perfecting his style for many years. Blending funk, electronic, soul, hiphop, and rock, Dr Aqueous and the Fantastik Apparatus defines the term “Tronrock”. From a modest beginning in central Florida, playing the saxophone in school, and singing in the church choir, the doc found a calling to music at an early age.
Described as “a chemical Brothers remix of a Frank Zappa/Grateful Dead mashup,” the live show is not to be missed. The Fantastik Apparatus is gaining a reputation as a spirited machine, often transporting everyone to times for which Dr. Aqueous did not plan. Is this the future or 1969?
Improvisational and structured, polished and rough, raw and serene. To every peak, there is a valley. To every ebb, there is a flow. Light, sound, water all move in waves. Join the socio-economic experiment in sound today. Join Doctor Aqueous and begin the journey

Join us for another free legal name change clinic. We will supply you with all of the paperwork needed for the name change and help you answer any questions you may have while navigating this often confusing process. It’s easier with friends!
Our clinic is free, but there are different costs associated with the name change process that you will pay to different agencies along the way, and they are as follows:
Fingerprint fees: $10 each (you’ll need 2 sets)
State background check: $14
FBI background check: $18
Name change petition: $120
Notary fees: vary by location
There is also a charge for a new copy of your birth certificate, but that depends on what state you were born in. To find that info, check https://www.vitalchek.com.
Not all fees are due at the same time in the name change process. Fingerprints are the first step in the process which you then send off for the the state and FBI background checks. The federal background check can take up to 3 months to return, so you will have a little time to get the filing fee for the name change petition together.
If you feel like you would be more comfortable with an escort to the ID Bureau for fingerprinting or to the courthouse to file papers, please let us know in advance of the clinic date so that we can make the proper arrangements.

We offer quick and practical solutions for short-term needs such as:
-Food insecurity
-Re-establishing essential utilities
-Emergency housing
-Problem-solving for those overwhelmed by their day-to-day living conditions

We are there to provide a quick response to a crisis before that crisis becomes a long-term problem. After the situation is stabilized, our Community Resources Coordinator will evaluate the situation and refer those in need to available resources within the community.
Our partnerships with Eblen Charities, Helpmate, Our VOICE, and Working Wheels, enable us to do what we do best, being the quick fix for an acute crisis.

Join Fermenti at Sow True Seed for a Fermenting from the Garden Demo and Discussion. We will discuss ways to #growtoferment using Sow True Seed and your Fermenti Home Fermentation Kit to preserve your harvest the traditional way, increasing nutritional value! We will cover basic fermentation principles, have a live demo of how to ferment, and share creative recipe ideas from your garden.
Meg Chamberlain holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from the Corcoran College Of Art and Design, among other accreditations. In 2008, Meg and husband Lars began primitive homesteading in Missouri without the use of power and running water. From these conditions, a unified understanding of how traditional food production and preservation could be modernized without losing its heritage was identified and food waste practices were explored. In 2017, Fermenti was created- a fermentation powerhouse here in the mountains of WNC. At FERMENTI, we help connect you to that amazing past by teaching traditional Lactic Bacteria fermentation of vegetable ingredients and how they can help us preserve our future! Please join us and help bring this tradition back to life!

Join us for our next chapter meeting to help us cultivate community around combatting climate change through storytelling, understanding the urgency behind our efforts to match policy at scale of the climate change crisis we face, and learn more about the Green New Deal now.
Please encourage youth environmental enthusiasts to attend (although the Young at Heart are certainly welcome!) – middle school, high school, college, recent graduates, and millennials!
AGENDA
Part 1: Storytelling
We know the science behind the climate crisis – it’s not up for debate. However, movements are built around shared values, not science, and we use the craft of storytelling to allow us to connect around common values to build a strong movement from all walks of life.
At Sunrise, we share our stories with each other to break down the culture of isolation that we live in and build deep connections worth fighting for. Learn about the Sunrise approach which emphasizes storytelling, a captivating strategy to connect with others about climate change issues on an emotional level, first and foremost.
We’ll discuss storytelling, share a few examples, and do a short breakout session.
Part 2: Green New Deal 101
Being an informed advocate of the Green New Deal and understanding it deeply will help us be stronger ambassadors in each of our communities as well as our broader collective one. We’ll then shift the meeting into Green New Deal 101 session – learning more about the history of the GND, what we’re fighting for now, common talking points and responses to common questions, and discussing what the GND means to us, right now, as we decide how to carry this movement forward.
Part 3: Next Steps
The Sunrise Asheville Hub is just getting started! We’ll conclude the meeting by discussing plans for our Asheville town hall in May and learn how you can help us put together this larger event.
Sunrise is launching a 15-city, star-studded GND tour that includes some of the new faces of the Democratic Party, movement leaders and more to tell people about the Green New Deal and give them the tools and resources to pressure their policymakers to get behind it. We’re adding a stop in Asheville, and you can help us make it a success!
The Tour will take the fight for a Green New Deal to every town across America and share our pathway to victory now through 2020.
*****
ABOUT SUNRISE
Sunrise is building a movement led by young people to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. We’re transforming our generation’s anger and frustration at witnessing a lifetime of political inaction on climate into a mass movement to pass a Green New Deal for America.
Sunrise began because our political leaders have utterly failed us. Some take millions of dollars in bribes from fossil fuel CEOs, others don’t seem to have the courage to stand for the solutions we need to preserve life as we know it. We need to build a movement that’s ready to relentlessly demand politicians fight for what we need, not just what pundits say is politically possible, and when needed elect new leaders who will represent our generation.
