Belly Dance: Improving Energy and Posture
Jan 31 @ 6:45 pm – 8:00 pm
The Shift Studio

I stumbled upon belly dance almost 6 years ago after breaking my wrist and going through a divorce, and it was one of the most healing experiences I’ve ever had. Belly dance improves the flow of our life force energy which is innately healing. I hope belly dance can be as nurturing and healing for you as it has been for me!…

This 7 week series is for the absolute beginner or those wishing to review the basics. Drop-in or come for the whole series. Belly dance is for anyone. Each class will begin with a warm up and stretching. I will review basic moves and build on those moves throughout the series. We will work on some basic choreography with 1 song towards the end of the series. If you’ve never taken a class with me before your first class is $10. Wear similar clothes that you would to a yoga class- there is no need to expose your belly. Hip scarves are optional. If you are under 18 y.o. I ask that you have a parent or legal guardian attend the class as well.

No dance experience is needed. No class on January 24th- if there is enough interest I may stream an online class for Q & A.

Sufi Brothers #MusicOnTap
Jan 31 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm

The Sufi Brothers are Aaron “Woody” Wood on vocals and guitar and Jason Krekel on vocals, mandolin, guitar, and fiddle. We represent over 15 years of Americana from Asheville – as true locals that have played a diverse collection of venues from revivals to dive bars. The Sufi Brothers play an improvised set that starts with a tribute to country roots, blues, gospel and folk, then travels a path unknown guided by an openness and sensitivity to each other and the universe. Like our namesake the Sufis – we let love and a higher power determine the course the music takes.

In the blink of an eye, Bertie is masquerading as a romance novelist, Crumpet’s posing as his own long-lost twin, and a sinister foreign count is challenging Bertie to a duel. Will this madcap case of mistaken identities end in Bertie’s doom–or worse, his marriage? Have no fear; Jeeves will sort it all out.
