About FlowJam:

FlowJam is Loudoun County, Virginia’s first Universal Healing Arts festival founded in 2014 on a 16-acre farm in Bluemont, VA.

The 3 day experience fuses yoga, music, stimulating art, dance, healing vibes, old oak trees, stunning creek, select local vendors and camping together to create a magical connection to one another & the Blue Ridge Mountains.

FlowJam started as a 1 day event to fundraiser for the Ikirwa School in Tanzania, through our first event we were able to support the building of a school in an off grid village in Tanzania. As our community grew, so did we. Since then. FlowJam has grown into a 3 day event.

Our intention is to cultivate a forward thinking community centered on good music, movement, the Blue Ridge Mountains, indulgence in local treats, and service to our local and global community.

The Kind Thieves:

Hailing from the heart of Appalachia, The Kind Thieves are a musical tour de force that is far greater than simply the sum of its parts. With members originating from all over the Southern West Virginia region, the Thieves pull influences from musical genres spanning from classic rock to funk to bluegrass, wrapped up in a jam-band bow that promises a 100% original and mind-blowing live experience every time they perform.
But jam-band isn’t even a box you can put the Thieves into, with heart-wrenching melodies, jaw-dropping harmonies, and songwriting capability far beyond their years, there is no way of knowing which direction they’ll go next, and no musical stone they’ll leave unturned.
The Kind Thieves debut record ‘Many A Thief’ was released in 2017 and continues to win new fans with it’s unforgettable hooks and sweet storytelling sensibilities.

Mateo Monk:

The music of Mateo Monk is beyond classification. It is a synthesis of multiple genres of world roots music, heavily informed by the spontaneous freedom of psychedelic jam culture. Mateo performs solo on the guitar, flute, synthesizer, and melodica, utilizing a looper pedal to create fully-textured rhythms, adorned with virtuosic melodic musings, all seamlessly woven into the song form in real time. It’s a modern spin on the iconic idea of the “one man band”, executed by a one-of-a-kind artist with deep emotional sensibility and dazzling instrumental finesse. Mateo has been performing for 23 years and has worked with many influential artists, including Thievery Corporation, Junior Marvin of Bob Marley and The Wailers, and members of the legendary reggae group Culture.

Project Drawdown Workshop Series
Mar 23 @ 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
The Collider

Drawdown is that point in time when the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begins to decline on a year-to-year basis. Project Drawdown is the most comprehensive plan ever proposed to reverse global warming.

Drawdown is based on meticulous research that maps, measures, models, and describes the most substantive solutions to global warming that already exist. It is the most important goal for humanity to strive for at this time.

The four-session series was created by Pachamama Alliance and Paul Hawken – the Drawdown Project lead scientist. This is the first time this series has been offered in Asheville.

This series is designed for individuals and groups who are ready to identify personal and family solutions that are within reach and/or have an interest in working with community organizations and the City of Asheville to implement climate solutions and policies.

Katherine Wilkerson, VP of Communications and Engagement at the national Drawdown Project, will be in Asheville delivering a lecture at The Collider’s Climate City Expo in April 2019. The Collider is generously offering free tickets to this event ($35 value) to anyone who participates in this four-session series.

Partial and full scholarships are available from Community Roots. Please message us if you are unable to purchase a ticket – no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Kitchen Medicine
Mar 23 @ 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Oconee History Museum

Which foods are known as brain foods? Which foods give you energy? Which foods help lower blood pressure?

Learn the answers to these questions and more during this informative class. This class will help you know how to choose your foods wisely as you are seeking to live a more healthy, abundant life.

The Kitchen Medicine class will not take the place of your doctor, health coach or dietitian. It will not have diets broken down for different illnesses. In the class you will learn that our foods have nutrients that contribute to our health. Let’s work together to get back to “whole food” nutrition and decrease the downward spiral of health decline in our community.
