The Home Town Holiday Jam this year will be a start studded line-up… Mike Ashworth and Mike Guggino of Steep Canyon Rangers are excited to have Steve “Big Daddy” McMurry of Acoustic syndicate and Bill Berg join them this year!!! This show will sell out so get your tickets now!!!
Steve “Big Daddy” McMurry is a founder member of Acoustic Syndicate, a rock/folk/bluegrass band from North Carolina formed in 1992. Their sound is characterized by tight three-part vocal harmonies, blazing guitar picking, complex polyrhythmic banjo playing, backed by a rock-steady rhythm section.
Known for its high-energy, positive sound, Acoustic Syndicate delivers a genre-defying performance, masterfully blending its eclectic influences with trademark finesse that only 17 years of cohesive teamwork can bring.
Bill Berg is a noted drummer in jazz and fusion music, best known for his work with the group Flim & the BB’s, as well as guitarist Wayne Johnson. He also served as the drummer for fellow Hibbing, Minnesota native Bob Dylan’s notable record Blood on the Tracks. Berg has also recorded and worked with Leo Kottke, Gary Brunotte, Bill Perkins, and others. He has also worked with the Marc Yaxley Trio, a local jazz band in Transylvania County, North Carolina.

Spaceman Jones And The Motherships
– Born of a shared creative vision, Spaceman Jones & the Motherships is the project of Davaion Bristol (Spaceman Jones) and Cliff B. Worsham (Mother HOOD), whose continuously evolving, collaborative sound comes out of a partnership in which talent meets resilience. Both natives of Asheville, NC, the artists met after developing mutual respect for one another’s music (Spaceman’s hip hop and Mother HOOD’s work with electronic outfit RBTS WIN). Although they didn’t grow up together, they share experiences of becoming adults in a broken system, where education often goes hand in hand with punishment and inequity. From these transformational fires emerged the intelligent, acerbic, and ultimately hopeful rhymes of Spaceman, and the sauntering, confident, and darkly joyful beats of Mother HOOD.
