The Art of Compassion is an international collective art project involving vegan artists from all around the world. The aim is to raise funds through various art exhibitions and donate 100% of the proceeds to vegan, non-profit organizations, while opening people’s minds and hearts to the global benefits of veganism and compassion towards animals.
I will have the absolute honor of displaying one of the first of I hope many more AOC exhibits here in Asheville at The Block Off Biltmore. The gallery will be displayed in the bar room through the entire month of October during the Block’s daily hours of operation. There will also be a collection of art from local, vegan artists in the music room for sale to accompany the work from AOC.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue recieved funds raised at the AOC gallery displayed during the most recent VegFest in Asheville and I am happy to announce that we have chosen Bounty&Soul Foodbank to recieve all funds raised from this start of fall exhibition! Bounty&Soul is a nonprofit food distribution program that works to salvage excess produce from grocery stores and partner with farmers within the Black Mountain community. They hold markets three times a week that welcome anyone and everyone to come collect as much produce as needed, as often as needed. They also offer cooking demonstrations at each market, using the in-season produce and offer samples as well as handouts of their recipes so they can be recreated within the homes of all who are interested! Volunteers also offer yoga, foraging, and nutrition education classes to name a few. They also educate people about the importance of eating a diet rich in a variety of whole, plant foods and teach them how to actively grow these plants within the community. They are a quickly expanding, heart-centered organization of lovely people that I am more than happy to be able to support as I know all contributions will go towards fighting hunger and reducing food waste here in Buncombe County.
I will be offering posters in the sizes of 16X20″ for $25 and 11X14″ for $20 which can be purchased during the gallery and either collected at the end or mailed to the buyer for an additional $5. Unfortunately there are a limited amount of each print so I will be posting pictures of each on here as a preview to all interested. There will also be AOC stickers and buttons for $1 each that can be collected upon purchase!
So if you are in Asheville during October then be sure to stop in at The Block Off Biltmore for one or more of their many, soul enriching music, dance, and social justice events while you give the gallery a gander. If you are not able to make it and would like to obtain one of the posters then feel free to message me anytime!
I will also be creating a GoFundMe to correlate with the exhibition if you’d like to cotribute to the funds raised but do not wish to purchase a poster. The other artists and I will be holding a reception sometime during October that will be announced as soon as we decide upon a date that works for everyone! To further enchance this experience, I will be out at The Block taking donations for bowls and cones of my delicious, allergy-friendly Banana based “Nicecream” in a variety of flavors and will keep you all informed about which nights and times this will be taking place.
I welcome any and all to this wonderful, compassionate, creative, collaboration and am excited to meet all the beautiful beings it brings! May we come together for nights of revolutionary conversation and laughter in order to uplift and support each other on our journies towards a more conscious and compassionate future.
Love and Blessings, Always!
Cedar
P.S. If you’d like to stay informed about more events like this then send me a message with your email so I can add you to my weekly Love Letter mailing list. Included will also be current happenings in the fight for animal liberation, my recent blog posts, recipes, first notice of new stock and giveaways that myself and Bumcombe Botanicals will be holding, as well as positive affirmations to assist you in moving most efficiently through the planetary energy of each week!

Highly original acoustic music from NYC, based in Southwest France.
Similar in style and humour to Nora Jones, Tim O’Brien, John Prine, Regina Spektor, The Rail Splitters. Strong storytelling songs, musicality and sublime wackiness. All in good fun.
