Think Globally, Act Locally (workshop series – 3 Sats 10a-noon)
Mar 9 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Daniel Barber

If you ever wonder how best to make the difference you most want to make, now there is a powerful new practice available for you. This unique practice offers tools combining various mindfulness techniques, creative improvisation and the power of sound to help people connect more deeply with their authentic nature, share their unique gifts more effectively, and find their true place in the world.

You can learn about this modality over 3 consecutive Saturdays at Jubilee! from 10a-noon starting on Feb 23 and continuing March 2 and 9.

This will be limited to 15 people so we can have a relatively intimate group experience, so signing up in advance will be best.

I’m looking forward to this opportunity to share this approach with you. We have a lot of living to do, much to grieve and to celebrate, and a lot of musicality to enjoy together!

I am more empowered to refuse to deal with conflict in a negative way.. You have this calm aura around you… Thank you for that! Plus you make my brain work :) – Lisa Wilcox

Variety of modalities. Very creative in making it interesting and meaningful. – Dr Pegge Saylor

I seem able to «extract» myself from the immediate drama and to have a less emotional perspective on my current situation. – Roger Beaumont

For me, these 3 sessions gave a glimpse into the world of sound and community as an inspiration towards manifesting the desires that many of us vocalized in the group that was present. What kind of world do we want to live in? – Christine Westfeldt

Free Wine Tasting – Oregon All The Way
Mar 9 @ 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Table Wine

Oregon Wine Lovers Unite for the best free wine tasting in Asheville! Join us Saturday to try 5 delicious wines from Oregon’s Willamette Valley and beyond for free.

If you think all that Oregon does well is Pinot Noir, think again! The state is abundant with new producers “playing with” new grapes and new styles of wines, and we’re big fans. Don’t worry, we’ll certainly pour some Pinot Noirs, but we’ll also set our sights on some of Oregon’s newer wines and wineries. Check out the lineup below, spread the word, and plan to stop by. Taste, learn, save every Saturday at Table Wine!

Asheville’s Best Free Wine Tasting – Just stop by – we’ve got plenty of free parking!

Don’t forget, all the featured tasting wines are 20% off by the bottle on tasting day.

1. 2017 Elk Cove Pinot Gris (Willamette Valley, Oregon) – Elk Cove makes one of Oregon’s top Pinot Gris’, and the 2017 is in top form. Fermented in stainless steel, it is medium-bodied with good concentration to the pear, nectarine, apple and spice.
90 points Wine Advocate, 90 points Wine Enthusiast

2. 2018 Division-Villages Rosé of Gamay “L’Avoiron” (Yakima Valley, Washington) – Gamay, the same grape that makes the joyful wines of Beaujolais, has a found a new home in the Pacific Northwest, and one of my favorite new producers is Division Winemaking Company. They are fully dedicated to the Gamay grape (see wine #3), and their tiny production dry rosé is thrilling. Bright, crisp, fresh and brimming with tart red fruit, herbs and mineral, you’re gonna’ like it.

3. 2017 Division Winemaking Company Gamay “Lutte” (Willamette Valley, Oregon) – When I tasted this for the first time, I was immediately transported to Fleurie, the famed Cru Villages in Beaujolais. And it totally makes sense as winery founders Kate Norris and Thomas Monroe trained there! Lithe, fresh and packed with peppery, red fruit aromas and flavors, it is a hard one to put down.

4. 2015 Raptor Ridge Pinot Noir “Barrel Reserve” (Willamette Valley, Oregon) – I love the more modern-styled, richer, fuller-bodied style of Raptor Ridge’s Pinot Noirs, and they knocked it outta’ the park with this one. From the warm, dry and sunny 2015 vintage, this is a gorgeous, opulent red wine with soaring notes of ripe plum, cherry preserves, baking spices, and herb.
93 points James Suckling, 92 points Wine Enthusiast

5. Surprise Wine – Get ready for Oregon Pinot Noir greatness! This one was one of Wine Spectator’s top-rated wines of the legendary 2014 vintage. Yep, we’ve still got some!
