Chicago
Mar 27 @ 7:30 pm – 10:30 pm
Peace Center

Hailed as one of the “most important bands in music since the dawn of the rock and roll era” by former President Bill Clinton, the legendary rock and roll band with horns – Chicago – is the first American rock band to chart Top 40 albums in six consecutive decades.

Chicago’s lifetime achievements include two Grammy® Awards, two American Music Awards, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and a Chicago street dedicated in their honor. Record sales top the 100 million mark, and include 21 Top 10 singles, five consecutive #1 albums, 11 #1 singles, and five gold singles. An incredible 25 of their 36 albums have been certified platinum, and the band has a total of 47 gold and platinum awards.

Chicago has toured every year since the beginning. Four original band members still touring are Robert Lamm on keyboards and vocals, Lee Loughnane on trumpet and vocals, James Pankow on trombone, and Walt Parazaider on woodwinds. The band line-up also includes Wally Reyes, Jr. on drums, Keith Howland on guitar and vocals, Lou Pardini on keyboards and vocals, Ray Herrmann on sax and flute, Neil Donell on vocals, Brett Simons on bass, and Ramon “Ray” Yslas on percussion.

With the signature sound of the Chicago horns, their iconic vocalists, and a few dozen ever-classic songs, their concerts are celebrations. 2019 marks the band’s 52nd consecutive year of touring – without missing a single concert date!

Ben Frankin’s 13 Virtues Circle
Mar 28 @ 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Jubilee Community Church

Founding father and master inventor Benjamin Franklin was also a pioneer of self-improvement. In 1727 Franklin formed the Junto, a weekly mutual-improvement club made up of a group of his peers and fellow Philadelphia tradesmen to discuss 13 core virtues and explore how to better incorporate them in their lives – and use them as a foundation for enriching the world. The club became the launching pad for all sorts of civic initiatives: the public library, the post office and the volunteer fire department, which have had a lasting impact on society.

Join us while we gather to discuss the 13 virtues in the context of the present day. We’ll meet weekly for 13 weeks and commit to making better and more conscious choices about our own behavior and work with others to spread those virtues through acts of kindness and good deeds. There is no cost and it is open to all!

Danielle Miraglia at Isis Music Hall
Mar 28 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Danielle Miraglia comes armed with a strong steady thumb on an old Gibson, an infectious stomp-box rhythm and harmonica with tunes ranging from heart-felt to socially conscious that will move both your heart and hips. Her latest “All My Heroes Are Ghosts,” released with her band Danielle M and The Glory Junkies touches on a lot of what might be on your mind these days – from the loss of so many musical heroes to our collective anxieties on “All On Fire,” and more.. The music itself blends influences of some of Miraglia’s own musical heroes – The Rolling Stones, Prince, Janis Joplin along with Danielle’s lyrical ability to explore human nature at its best and worst. Danielle M and The Glory Junkies are nominated for a 2018 Boston Music Award for “Blues Artist of the Year” and Danielle was nominated for a 2015 Boston Music Award for Singer-Songwriter of the Year. “Straddling the line where folk/roots meets rock/blues, Miraglia has a voice that can go from a raspy come-hither purr to an Etta James-esque powerhouse belt, although she may be best known for her lead thumb — a heavy, thumping strike on her Gibson that’s backdrop percussion in itself.” – Lauren Daley, The Boston Globe
