Kate Willett is a comedian, actress and writer who has appeared on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Netflix’s Comedy Lineup. She’s the author of the Audible Original “Dirtbag Anthropology.” She’s the cohost of the political comedy podcast Reply Guys and has written jokes for your favorite boys, Beavis and Butthead.
She’s been a correspondent for the JIM JEFFERIES SHOW at Politicon and a featured comic on Viceland’s FLOPHOUSE. Her appearance on Comedy Central’s THIS IS NOT HAPPENING was on Splitsider’s list of “Best Late Night Standup Sets.” In the past, she toured with Margaret Cho nationally and internationally and has featured with comedians like Kyle Kinane, Maria Bamford, and Greg Behrendt.
She has appeared in the Just for Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival, Limestone Comedy Festival, Laughing Skull Festival, Big Sky Festival, Bridgetown Comedy Festival, San Francisco Sketchfest and High Plains. Volunteers are at the heart of our work and offer much needed advocacy support for survivors. We have three different volunteer opportunities available: on-call advocates, daytime volunteers, and outreach volunteers. Below are general expectations for all Our Voice volunteers:
Be a minimum of 18 years old
Have reliable transportation
Have a reliable cell phone
Have reliable internet/email
Commit to a minimum of 6 months of volunteering following training
Participate in continued education at least once a year
Trainings will be shared via email/volunteer portal
Complete a 20 hour advocate training prior to taking shifts
This is a requirement in order to maintain advocate privilege.
We are limited in capacity for internships. Those interested in interning with Our Voice should reach out to our Volunteer Coordinator at 828-252-0562 to inquire.
On-Call Volunteer
- Take crisis line calls during assigned on-call shifts
- Assist callers in crisis
- Provide clients with appropriate referrals to Our Voice services or other community agencies
- Accompany survivors at Mission Hospital during on-call shifts
- Take a minimum of two on-call phone shifts each month (shifts are weekdays 5pm-8am and weekends/holidays 8am-8pm or 8pm-8am)

The tour is 60 minutes long and includes no stops. The tour is hosted by a zany tour guide, and along the way other characters will hop on the bus and perform kid-centric sketches (Candy Pirate, Ninja, and a Levitator) The tour is not only fun – it’s educational! Prepare yourself for a whirlwind adventure of suspense and comedy with Alfred Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps. This fast-paced play is a unique adaptation of the 1935 classic Hitchcock thriller film, infused with a healthy dose of Monty Python-style humor. The story revolves around the central character, Richard Hannay, who inadvertently gets tangled in a mysterious web of spies, murder, and love. Remarkably, the entire riveting narrative unfolds through the talents of just four actors, who collectively portray over 150 characters, masterfully switching roles with lightning speed. Brimming with clever references to Hitchcock’s filmography, wry British humor, and ingeniously crafted theatrical inventiveness, The 39 Steps promises a rollicking evening of entertainment that leaves audiences on the edge of their seats.
A talkback with the cast & crew of The 39 Steps will be held following the performances on June 23rd and 30th.

Alan Massenburg is a comedian, writer and actor originally from Philadelphia, Pa. This year, Alan released his debut comedy album, “We Got Action,” which debuted at #1 on the iTunes chart. He has been a finalist in the American Black Film Festival stand up competition presented by HBO and has appeared in the “Dad Joke” segment on the Drew Barrymore Show. Alan was also a featured performer at the world famous Apollo Theater and on Sirius XM’s “Sway in the Morning Show”. His social media content has garnered over 10 million views and he can be heard cohosting the Proper Ebonics Podcast.

If you don’t have one, just be sure you bring your personal email login information (User ID & password) and you can use one of our Chromebooks. If you’ve canvassed or phone banked for Democrats in the past, you likely have an Action ID account, so please be sure to bring that login information as well. Of course, you will also need your cell phone.
Phone banking remains one of the best practices for winning elections and our phone banks are designed to reach those voters who rarely pick up their calls. We’ll leave a message on their voice mail, then also text them the same message. When someone does pick up their call, you’ll possibly have a lively conversation because we are targeting supporters!
