We are supporting Bounty & Soul’s work providing healthy food for our local community by providing them with metal silverware for their food sampling events. These wiill prevent the wastage and expense of disposable spoons and forks.
Bounty & Soul provide samples of delicious plant based foods and education for those members of the community who are receiving donated healthy food. Rather than use plastic spoons and forks for the demonstrations and sampling, Bounty & Sould are finding ways to be more green and sustainable, and we want to help.
We are aiming to collect 80 sets of metal or durable bamboo small spoons and forks through the month of February. Please bring washed used or new silverware to our store and enjoy our thanks and a browse and a cup of fair trade coffee.

Get ready for a seriously awesome Super Bowl Sunday as social media superstar Grey the vegan rapper (Official Grey Music) hosts Hendersonville’s Sanctuary Brewing Company’s 4th annual Puppy Bowl! The festivities, which benefit Brother Wolf Animal Rescue and Sweet Bear Rescue Farm will take place at Kanuga Conference & Retreat Center on Sunday, February 3rd.
For those new to the canine competition, adoptable puppies play an incredibly cute game of rough-and-tumble football while onlookers (and potential adopters) drink craft beer and cheer them on! This year’s halftime show will feature a musical performance by Grey as well as adoptable senior dogs.
Sanctuary Brewing Company will be serving brews, locally-based plant meat makers No Evil Foods & Garlik Vegan Kitchen will be serving eats, and there’ll be a Pop-Up Pup Photo Booth on site by Indulge Images.
While in past years it was hosted at Sanctuary Brewing Company’s location in downtown Hendersonville, the epic annual event of adorableness has become so big that the staff is moving the event to the gymnasium at nearby Kanuga Conference & Retreat Center to accommodate all the fans!
With more than 150k Instagram followers and hundreds of thousands of views of his original viral rap video, Vegan Thanksgiving, Grey is a legitimate phenomenon. He’s so influential that he’s introducing mega-celebs to veganism. Recently, actress Jada Pinkett-Smith shared Grey’s Thanksgiving rap video with her 4.9 million Instagram followers.
“We are beyond excited for the 2019 Puppy Bowl,” says Sanctuary Brewing Company Co-Owner Lisa McDonald. “Grey is an incredible host, the event is going to be the biggest it’s ever been – and we’re going to get so many puppies adopted! It’s literally our favorite day of the year.”
“We are thrilled to host Puppy Bowl 2019,” says Kanuga Conferences Inc. President, Michael Sullivan. “It’s a fun event that gives back to our community in such a wonderful way by benefitting two local organizations and we are excited to be a part of that.”
This year’s lineup includes Team Tuff and Team Gruff, and all players will be available for adoption from Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.

The exhibit will be in 310 ART for the months of February and March 2019. It will feature the large and very large original watercolors that have not been displayed in Asheville until this exhibit. Note there are two formal events: an opening reception and a closing party and art talk. The art and artist will be available every day during this two month period. If you are in Asheville I hope you will come by and talk about the art. There will be trains, bridges, cityscapes and more. There will be more work for you to view in my studio space at 310 art. I will be there working on or teaching more art every day. Bring your friends and art collectors. It will be nice to see you.

This play evolved from an Acting/Writing Exercise which took place in Coláiste Dhúlaigh in 2010, where two actors (Caoimhín Ó Rían and Megan Keegan) wrote and performed a short scene using language in the most unique and creative of fashions. “Bop and Evey” became one of the most celebrated creative achievements of the year and went on to perform on the Dublin Theatre scene.

Details: I’m basically a travelling art studio for newbies! So this is an awesome art party for all. Everything you’ll need will be set up and ready to go when you arrive. I’ll walk you step-by-step through our painting on a 16x20in canvas. The paintings are intended for newbies and non-artists (so you can do it! for real. i’d even pinky swear to it). The painting should take about 2.5 hours (maybe a little more if you take your time), and while we’re painting you can snack and chat and partake in some drinks (if that’s your fancy)! Now get your tickets, because I can’t wait to paint with you!

Expect a thorough yoga-inspired full body warm up followed by pole conditioning skills to help you achieve your pole fitness goals. Last day of practice until the JCC Gefilte Fish swim meet. The kiddos have been working hard and there’s a a combination of excitement and nerves. For many of them this is their first meet ever. The Asheville Home Builders Association is proud to facilitate and host the 7th annual Playhouse Showdown for the Buncombe County Career & Technical Education Courses for 2019. Five Buncombe County High Schools designed and built playhouses to be raffled on location at this year’s Build & Remodel Expo.
Each school will receive $2 from each raffle ticket sold to utilize within their local construction classrooms. All remaining proceeds support Buncombe County’s CTE Program & future Playhouse Showdown events. Raffle Tickets are $5 and include one admission into the Build & Remodel Expo held at the WNC Ag Centers Davis Arena in February.
