While in Mr. Scary’s class Junie has trouble reading the blackboard – and she may need glasses. Add in a friendly cafeteria lady, an intense kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal,” and first grade has never been more exciting.

The band begins at 4:00. Jam (with a full rhythm section) begins at 5:00 and goes until 7:00.
Unfortunately Mary Steinbrecher is still not feeling well and will not be performing this week, but fear not she will return to sing and lead the band another week upon her recovery! So instead the house band will be playing in tribute to Cannonball Adderley featuring guitarist Mathew Manning. Come bring your axe and jam or just hang!

Escape the habits of a fast-paced life and take a conscious step toward harmonizing with other like minded individuals while integrating a healthy lifestyle for the body, mind, spirit, while connecting to nature. The daily routine focuses on introducing educational components for self-care, holistic fitness, nutrition, tools for inspiration and knowledge to enhance one’s quality of life mindfully designed by OM Sanctuary’s expert staff.
Disconnect from a highly connected world and reconnect to an inner source of balance on the beautiful 54-acre nature based campus, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains above the French Broad River in Asheville, NC.
The Sound Therapy Transformation Arts sessions led by Billy Zanski will help to slow the breath and shift individuals’ brainwaves. As the powerful sound waves wash over each participant’s body, stress and worry dissipate and the mind’s thoughts move into the background. Focusing on the landscape of peaceful sounds helps to activate the deep intelligence within the body and spirit. Billy opens up space for others to feel expanded, connected and held in peace- opening participants up to a greater perspective, inviting subtle shifts and healing to happen spontaneously. Learn all about sound healing instruments, how sound is used in tribal cultures and how they affect the body, mind and spirit. Each session will build on the next allowing for intention setting and clearing out of old or stagnant energy.
Wellness Immersion Retreat includes:
*Immersive Retreat – The joy of nurturing well-being and deepening life enhancing experiences
*6 Coaching Sessions – A Wellness Coach will introduce the group to the wellness wheel of health, helping each individual identify the areas of personal wellness that could use special attention such as mental, emotional, social, financial, spiritual, physical and environmental health. Weekly curriculum is designed for personal growth and well-being.
*3 Featured Transformational Art sessions – Each Immersion has a different specialty theme. Check out the Immersion themes below.
*Departure gift – A touchstone to assist with integration back into daily life after retreat
*3 Daily Meals: Vitalize the body with a nutritious vegetarian breakfast, picnic lunch, and dinner

Pianist, Composer and “Steinway Artist,” Michael Jefry Stevens performs extensively in Europe, Latin America and North America. He was voted “Best Composer of 2016” by readers of the Mountain Xpress in Asheville, NC and was a recipient of a 2017 Regional Project Grant through the North Carolina Arts Council.
An active band-leader for over 35 years, his current working musical ensembles include the “Conference Call Quartet,” the “Fonda/Stevens Group,” the Hungarian “Eastern Boundary Quartet,” “the Generations Quartet” featuring saxophonist Oliver Lake and his most recent “Coretet” collaboration and CD release with Dame Evelyn Glennie. Michael has released over 90 Cds and has performed and/or recorded extensively with many of the top names in Jazz, including Dave Liebman, Oliver Lake, Dave Douglas, Leo Smith, Matt Wilson, Han Bennink, Mark Feldman, Pheeroan AkLaff, Gerry Hemingway, Charles Moffett Sr., Billy Martin and many others.
He was the “Margaret Lee Crofts Fellow” for 2000-2001 at the MacDowell Colony, and was a Centrum Arts composer fellow (2004). Stevens was artist in residence for at EMU Conservatory in La Plata, Argentina between 2005-2010, and has taught at the Royal Academy of Music in Denmark, Sibelius Academy in Finland, University of Michigan, Indiana University, and many other educational institutions in Europe, Latin America and North America. He is currently on the faculty of ETSU.

Come join us at the “Appalachia Guild of Healing Arts” for our monthly
*Reiki Recharge Circle!*
During these Circles, we will be uplifting one another, as well as the planet, through energetic therapy.
After a brief Chakra meditation, we will participate in a few energy building exercises before administering Reiki to one another as a group.
Then we will send distance Reiki to people/places/things around the world.
This group is to encourage Reiki practitioners to practice this modality with one another to strengthen our batteries so that we may become better conduits for Reiki.
This group is also for those who are not educated in Reiki so that he or she can learn and experience this healing energy.
Whether you are or are not attuned to Reiki, you are invited!

Join us in our River Arts District Studio to learn how to install a pressed cane seat. This type of caning is also known as sheet cane, machine caning, or loom-woven caning. Bring a seat with a cleaned out groove and learn tips and tricks for easy clean, and simple installation. Chairs are available for a nominal fee if you need one.
Tuition includes 4 hours of instruction, all tools and materials to complete one seat, after-class assistance on future projects, and $25 off future chair caning classes.
