The purpose of the Live Event is to liberate your next level of leadership contribution, as we come together to shift ourselves and our world from fear to love.
The Vision for the Live Event includes many collaborative elements that will be woven together into a transformative, artful, improvisational, engaging experience on-stage. Whether you are on-stage or in the audience, you will experience personal transformation and community-building. Your full presence will naturally contribute to The Shift from Fear to Love.
We will begin our 4-hour experience creating a heightened state of love and liberation–weaving in the power of music, dance, singing, spoken word, meditation, guided visualization, and communal intention. You will then be invited into transformational experiences–a collage of journaling, partner work, open forum sharing, spotlight coaching, and improvisational creativity. Everything will be by choice where you decide how deeply you’re ready to engage.

March 31st 3-4:40p Join us for this enlivening dance workshop with Vivie Bernard that explores Afro-Brazilian dance from Bahia, Brazil.
This culturally rich Brazilian state, with a strong African imprint, exudes many styles from Orishas, to Axé, to Samba de Roda, to Capoeira, to dancing with percussive instruments. This workshop will focus on Samba de Roda, culminating with its own “Roda”, or circle, with clapping, crossing, and shakin’ it!!

Asheville Mardi Gras needs YOU! Come to our annual all-member meeting to find out about the opportunities to help us continue to thrive. AMG puts on five super-fun events and fundraisers throughout the year and they’re all piloted by the members of the Executive Committee.
This year we have at least four openings on the “Excom” including: Volunteer Coordinator, Membership Chair, Party Czar and Krewe Chair.
Excom meetings are held once a month for most of the year (they’re more frequent around parade time) and tend to be relatively brief, so there’s not a huge time commitment required. But your help WILL be huge!
So if you’re a tech-savvy, energetic reveler that wants to help AMG continue to spread smiles, positivity and not just a little glitter around town, please do come on by this Sunday, March 31!

Long Creek Falls is one of our most beautiful waterfalls and is a tributary of the Chattooga River. This hike is 3.6 miles round trip. It is a fairly easy hike, but has a steep part at the end to get down to the falls. There are plenty of roots to grab onto, but this hike will probably be best for ages 8 and up and/or a more moderate hiker. This is a beautiful 30 feet waterfall that is well worth the climb to see in person! We hope to see you on the trail!

Born in Georgia, Elizabeth Child gave her first solo recital at age 10 and made her televised orchestral debut at age 12, eventually leading to a New York debut in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Will Crutchfield of the New York Times stated in his review, “One always sensed that something was happening in her playing, and that made it easy to enjoy.”
Child’s orchestral appearances include the Juilliard Orchestra at Lincoln Center under Stanisław Skrowaczewski, the summer festival orchestras of Interlochen and Brevard, and the symphonies of Columbus, GA, and Spartanburg, SC. As first-prize winner of the Twelfth Artists International Auditions, she was the featured soloist in the PBS television special How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall? an intimate portrait of a young artist preparing for her professional debut. A winner in the New York Piano Teachers Congress and the Society of American Musicians competitions, she has performed as soloist and chamber musician in the United States and Taiwan.
Child holds a doctorate from the Juilliard School, a graduate degree from the University of Michigan, and an undergraduate degree from Converse College, all in piano performance. She studied with Josef Raieff, Dmitri Paperno, Louis Nagel, Henry Rauch, and Dorothy Taubman.
Child returns to the Museum’s Pianoforte series for our 2018-2019 season. Other Asheville appearances have included the Asheville Chopin Club concerts, and Asheville Area Piano Forum benefit concerts.
For today’s performance, Child features an all-Bach program.

Join Creation Care Alliance of Western North Carolina and MountainTrue as we host Climate Interactive’s World Climate Simulation as part of The Collider’s Climate City Expo Faith track.
This will be an interactive experience that explores global poverty, power, politics and spirituality. This role-playing activity provides participants with an intimate and interactive experience with U.N. Climate negotiations by allowing them to take on the role of various stakeholders and try and address the most pressing climate-related issues we face today. Learn more about World Climate here.
