TNG’s March event is combining “Service with Socializing!” This was a huge success last year (and lots of fun!!), so let’s do it again!
We will fill gallon ziplock bags full of useful items (toiletries, snacks, socks, etc) and a few dollars. These bags can be kept in our cars and given to homeless people we see along the roadside, at exits, etc. This helps to bring ease into a person’s life….and more importantly…sharing an authentic connection helps to remove the shame and judgement often associated with homelessness.
In order to keep this simple, I will purchase items upfront in bulk from Amazon. The costs add up pretty quickly, so I am asking for a suggested $15-25 donation per person. If you want to pay that ahead of time, you can paypal me at [email protected] and put “Care Packet” in the memo. Otherwise, please bring cash or a check with you to the event. If there is extra money, we’ll donate it to the Jubilee Hunger Fund.
Also, bring an easy appetizer to share so we have munchies to snack on while we fill the bags and get to know each other! This is a Jubilee sponsored event, but please invite any of your friends! Kid friendly as well!

With focus, intention and colors, we will create a spell on paper. All supplies provided but you are welcome to bring your own pens, markers etc. Spend some contemplative time and focus on the matter at hand.

“Vaden Landers is a multi-instrumentalist from eastern Tennessee. As a young man he began traveling America’s highways and railroads, studying American folk music styles such as Old-time, Country, Blues, Cajun & Jug. With a voice like a young Hank Williams, and an acute musical attention to detail, he plays with an authenticity that he hopes will spread the knowledge. “

Adding a Southeast destination for designer toy makers and collectors, *Assembly Required brings designer, bootleg and art toy artists from around the country, to present and sell their work.
Asheville’s premiere designer toy expo, *Assembly Required, is presented by Unboxing Asheville, Morgan’s Comic’s, 103.3 Asheville FM and Appalachian Pinball Museum. Focusing on this artistic movement, designer toys are a form of lowbrow pop art. These toy makers pull inspiration from a variety of subversive segments of culture, as well as subcultural elements, including (but not limited to) comics, tattooing, street art, and everything related to toys of the 60’s through the 80’s.
Echoing production methods of traditional toy manufacturers, designer toys are usually intended to be displayed as collectibles, rather than to be played with. Toy makers mediums range from resin to vinyl, from plastic to plush; with molding, and production techniques such as kitbash, sofubi and bootleg (recently coined ‘Artisanal Action Figure’, by New York Times writer, Rich Juzwiak [11/23/18]). (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/23/style/bootleg-toys-action-figures.html).
Juzwiak interviews such artists as the Sucklord and Killer Bootlegs, both of whom will be present at *Assembly Required.

Men may take the course for a variety of reasons: personal interest, increased culinary responsibilities due to the death or disability of a spouse, or a desire to eat healthier.
