Pierce Edens
As those who have seen him live can attest, Pierce Edens absorbed the songwriting, storytelling and musical styling of the surrounding Appalachian Mountains, where he spent his childhood. This history takes the form of old time, folk and bluegrass music as well as spoken words of storytellers from his North Carolina home; this has earned him the moniker of “Appalachicana.”
Over the last ten years, Edens has been drawing on those roots and blending them with the grungy rock and roll sounds that took him in his teenage years. The result is a haunting and fiery mixture that is notoriously hard to pin down. Allmusic.com classifies Edens as both “Folk-Rock” and “psychedelic-grunge,” and No Depression writer Bill Kopp says “[He] could just as easily- and accurately- be tagged with the singer/songwriter label; He’s a gritty troubadour who takes what he needs from each style, blending and bending it to suit the needs of his songs.”
Through relentless touring, independently producing 4 albums (with one on the way), one full length concert film, and sharing the stage with musical heroes such as: Jim Lauderdale, Todd Snider, Will Kimbrough, and Sturgill Simpson, Edens has garnered a dedicated following of fans across the nation. And as Fred Mills of Blurt magazine says… “Edens is the R.F.D. (Real effin’ Deal), and when he and his band have their collective back against the wall, there’s trouble in store.”
Sam Burchfield
Sam Burchfield is a southern folk / soul artist out of Atlanta, GA. Lyrical depth paired with a soulful vocal delivery and catchy melodies drives home the message. Burchfield transports listeners into a wide array of musical truths, commanding the stage with a joyful honesty. His latest EP, Unarmored, digs a few layers deeper into a genre-crossing career that has only just begun. From
folk, to funk, to southern soul — Sam and his band of ‘Scoundrels’ capture it all. The rowdy crew puts on a show that is electrifyingly entertaining and yet full of Burchfield’s lyrical honesty and depth.
“…Burchfield’s music is soulful. That is the perfect word for it. It doesn’t just describe his genre – it describes the heart of the artist himself…”
-Emily McBride – VINYL MAG
After cutting his teeth in the indie-music hub of Athens, GA, Sam planted new roots in the nation’s R&B capital of Atlanta. Sam and The Scoundrels have now made ripples in the southeast, and continue to grow a loyal fanbase with their passion for music and camaraderie for each other.

In Flight has an eclectic sound that is unique to each performance. The band takes form as an acoustic guitar and piano duo or as an electric trio with drums. In either form, you can expect to hear original compositions that are worldly, progressive, and infused with experimental improvisations.
The band has roots as Hoosiers but now resides in Asheville, North Carolina. For nearly a decade, keyboardist, Ian Taylor, and guitarist, Bryce Robertson, have formed an alliance of music and friendship. With the addition of Jay Good on drums, the sound continues to grow.

Adding a Southeast destination for designer toy makers and collectors, *Assembly Required brings designer, bootleg and art toy artists from around the country, to present and sell their work.
Asheville’s premiere designer toy expo, *Assembly Required, is presented by Unboxing Asheville, Morgan’s Comic’s, 103.3 Asheville FM and Appalachian Pinball Museum. Focusing on this artistic movement, designer toys are a form of lowbrow pop art. These toy makers pull inspiration from a variety of subversive segments of culture, as well as subcultural elements, including (but not limited to) comics, tattooing, street art, and everything related to toys of the 60’s through the 80’s.
Echoing production methods of traditional toy manufacturers, designer toys are usually intended to be displayed as collectibles, rather than to be played with. Toy makers mediums range from resin to vinyl, from plastic to plush; with molding, and production techniques such as kitbash, sofubi and bootleg (recently coined ‘Artisanal Action Figure’, by New York Times writer, Rich Juzwiak [11/23/18]). (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/23/style/bootleg-toys-action-figures.html).
Juzwiak interviews such artists as the Sucklord and Killer Bootlegs, both of whom will be present at *Assembly Required.
