Nick Gonnering returns to French Broad River brewery! Come and listen in on his original 12 string Blues, Folk and Americana styling!
Nick Gonnering is a 12 string inspirational folk artist from the Asheville, NC area. His music is a reflection of his yogic journey through life and it centers around the heart, transformation, and clarity.
Nicks unique style is reminiscent of early John butler trio, jack Johnson and Michael hedges. With a voice similar to that of Jason Mraz and Brandon Boyd. His powerful lyrics will help guide you through his journey but also reflect on the macrocosm of the times we are surrounded by and how to steady your mind to remain truly and authentically you.

Though she is best known for her work as a mandolin player, Hull is also respected as a composer and lyricist, having worked closely with 15-time Grammy Award-Winner, Bela Fleck. And now, Sierra invites everyone to enjoy the musical sounds of a Bluegrass Christmas celebration.

After seeing her fiancé on TV kissing another woman at the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Mary’s life falls apart — just in time for the holidays. Over the next year, she stumbles back into the dating world, where “romance” ranges from weird and creepy to absurd and comical. It seems nothing can help Mary’s growing cynicism, until the charm and innocence of a five-year-old boy unexpectedly brings a new outlook on life and love. This heartwarming one woman show offers a hilarious and modern alternative to the old standards of the holiday season.

Billy Strings
Billy Strings plays hard and he lives hard, picking so fast and intensely that he’s known to break multiple strings per song, and basing the songs he writes on the hard lives he grew up around in the abandoned rural communities of America. His new album, Turmoil & Tinfoil, taps into a deep vein of psychedelia in Americana, referencing everything from the Dead to Sturgill Simpson, but all underlaid by Billy’s undeniable virtuosity and his knowledge of the roots of American music. He’s one of the most beloved young bluegrass guitarists today within the bluegrass community, and his front porch in East Nashville is constantly filled up with Nashville’s best roots musicians just picking up a storm.
The tricky part of making the new album, Turmoil & Tinfoil, was translating Billy Strings’ incendiary live show into the studio. Returning to his home state of Michigan, Billy enlisted acoustic roots wizard Glenn Brown (Greensky Bluegrass) as producer, and centered the music around his new band, featuring Drew Matulich on mandolin with banjo prodigy Billy Failing and much-loved Nashville bassist Brad Tucker. Rich with special guests, Turmoil & Tinfoil shows off Billy’s East Nashville community of picking friends, among them Miss Tess, Molly Tuttle, John Mailander, Shad Cobb and Peter Madcat Ruth. Of special note is a virtuosic duet between Billy and bluegrass guitarist Bryan Sutton on “Salty Sheep” that shows the speed, precision, and creative craftsmanship of bluegrass when it’s done right.

Slice of Life Comedy presents
The Blackout Diaries is a comedy show where standup comedians, plus ‘regular’ people (cops, firefighters, teachers, etc) tell true drinking stories. Then you, the audience, can ask questions.
The show has been a critics’ pick by most major Chicago newspapers and has been featured on NPR, Comedy Central and more. It’s host, Sean Flannery, was even named the best drunk in Chicago by The Chicago Reader, though we are still trying to figure out what that award means.
The Blackout Diaries is a weekly show in Chicago and is a monthly show in Brooklyn.
This will be the shows 5th time in Asheville, Chicago’s best drinking buddy. The Blackout Diaries hosted by Alex Joyce
