Jon Stickley Trio is a genre-defying and cinematic instrumental trio, which combines Stickley’s innovative flatpicking guitar with the sultry-spacy melodies of Lyndsay Pruett on violin along with classically trained and heavily jazz influenced drummer Hunter Deacon to create textural soundscapes.
“It’s not your father’s acoustic-guitar music—although Stickley’s pop showed him his first chords when he was 12 years old. Instead, Stickley’s Martin churns out a mixture of bluegrass, Chuck Berry, metal, prog, grunge, and assorted other genres—all thoroughly integrated into a personal style,” writes Guitar Player Magazine.
“Stickley is a super-resourceful acoustic guitarist who uses the instrument in many surprising ways and whose timing is just flawless. Fiddler Lyndsay Pruett puts deep thought into her flowing solos, plus she adds little flourishes and sudden stops that elevate the music,” proclaims Nashville’s Music City Roots’ Craig Havighurst.
Lover’s Leap: Standing on the precipice of a new and exciting venture, the band members of Lovers Leap decided to jump. Although it was more of a soaring than a falling when they first played together under the shadow of the beautiful rock outcrop in Hot Springs, NC, for which their name was inspired. At the heart of Lovers Leap is a lovely balance of lush harmonies and provocative solos, intwined in songs that span from old mountain murder ballads to original tunes, that are set to worldly rhythms and stratocaster daydreams. As a show unfolds and boundaries dissolve, the nucleus of a performance is steadfast, tugging on the listeners’ heart strings, while also satiating one’s desires of instrumental virtuosity.
Independently, Shelby Means (bass, guitar, vocals ), Mary Lucey (banjo, bass, vocals ), Joel Timmons (guitar, drums, vocals) and Billy Cardine (dobro, vocals), have each made an impact on the evolving Americana music scene. Means began singing and playing upright bass as a young’un in a family band. These talents lead her to a GRAMMY nomination with band, Della Mae where she shared the stage with folks such as Willie Nelson, and the Avett Brothers,. Lucey, a founding member of The Biscuit Burners, helped propel the band to international attention with her powerful singing, bass playing and songwriting. She also played with Uncle Earl alongside John Paul Jones for their album release tour. Timmons, as a member of Sol Driven Train has played alongside Bruce Hornsby, Levon Helm and Michael Franti, demonstrating his sonic playfulness, danceable rhythms and Americana pop leanings. Cardine, a slide guitar pioneer, founding member of The Biscuit Burners and current member of Acoustic Syndicate, Rapidgrass and North of Too Far Downs has made a name through his distinct voice on all things slide. He has performed with Edgar Meyer at Carnegie Hall and collaborated with greats such as Debashish Bhattacharya and Jerry Douglas.

Composed of some of the most accomplished players from Asheville’s diverse musical scene, Moves is a seven-piece rock band sporting a trio of lead vocalists backed by ambulatory rhythms and inventive combinations of keys, guitars and brass.
Like Dr. Dog, Lake Street Dive, and Vulfpeck, these experienced musicians carry on the traditions of layered instrumentation and stout three-part harmonies, proving themselves students of ‘60s and ‘70s rock greats while finding plenty of room for contemporary flair. On stage, they provide non-stop entertainment with each member moving seamlessly from one instrument to the next, delivering well-crafted shows with undeniable ensemble-wide chemistry that’s as much a visual treat as a sonic one.
Moves recently released its self-titled debut album digitally with a physical release coming soon. Funneled through smooth production by River Whyless’ Dan Shearin, the dozen original tracks feature lyrics that reflect on love and loss, while making eloquent pleas for social justice and harmony. Pocketed between them are bursts of raw storytelling that would feel at home in an anthology of modern Southern literature and further showcase the versatility of this gifted group.

“Pour 40 Tour” at Pisgah Brewing
*With Special Guests Colby Deitz Band
The “Pour 40 Tour” is designed to bring music together with the thriving craft beer industry in our region. Throughout the course of this tour, we’ll be performing at 7 of our favorite breweries. Every week, we’ll be bringing you behind the scenes Facebook/Instagram Live episodes featuring a full tour of the facilities and a tasting of their choice brews. These episodes will air mid week throughout (dates/times of episodes to be posted separately), and at the conclusion of the Tour, we will have sampled and given our review of 40 different craft beers. We hope to give our fans a behind the scenes look at not only our band, but also each brewery and the people/stories behind them. We top it all off with a rawkin show at each brewery on the corresponding weekend!
Porch 40 formed in 2012 at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. They play a style of highly Progressive Funk Rock that has won over an eclectic audience everywhere they perform. Incorporating elements from R&B, Jazz, and Funk with the best of the Rock, Progressive, Indie and Metal, they cross over genres with ease.
