Looking for a way to get your kids to be more creative and make a difference by making people laugh? Bring your kids to The Artisan of Flat Rock for a great session in the art of comedy.
They will learn creative joke writing, overcoming stage fright, learning to public speak, stage presence, and do all of this in a setting which will encourage teamwork, acceptance, and positive reinforcement.
Class will be taught by Mike Elis and will also have special guest comics.
And, after so many classes, your child will perform a 3-5 minute set in a kids’ comedy night for family and friends…. and receive a graduation diploma with proceeds from the show going to charity!
Classes will be $15 for children of members (remember, joining starts at only $5 per year), and $12 for those that are Master Craftsmen and Journeymen members.
We will only have 15 spots available for each class.
****All material will be clean. Students who graduate and perform in the show will be expected to fill at least one table for four guests for that ticketed event. There will be a minimum number of classes that must be attended in order for any student to graduate and perform.***

We all know that muscles make us move, but do we know what it feels like to be in all our tissues when we move? What does it feel like when we focus on our skin, fascia, or bones? In this 4-week series we will explore what it feels like to initiate movement from different tissues and to “listen” to what each “says”. We will also explore what it feels like to “share energy” throughout the rest of the body with areas that feel depleted or less energetic than others.

The King of Halloween and Miss Firecracker Queen tells the story of a football life from a daughter’s perspective. It provides a look under the hood, so to speak, of one family’s rise through the ranks of competitive football- from high school to college to professional coaching, and ultimately Super Bowl champion. It also chronicles their struggle to deal with the decline and death of the patriarch from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) as a result of that life. It is a story of one family’s love of a game and each other, and of one man’s strength of character, and one woman’s love that sustained him.
