Join us on September 20, from 6:00 PM to 7:15 PM for an enchanting session of yoga amidst the picturesque surroundings of Reynolds Village. The event will take place on the lush green lawn, creating a soothing atmosphere to unwind and embrace the beauty of nature.
Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or a newcomer to the practice, “Yoga on the Green” welcomes individuals of all skill levels to partake in a 75 minute long session of rejuvenating yoga. Led by experienced and certified yoga instructors, the session will incorporate a blend of gentle stretches, mindfulness techniques, and calming breathwork to help you connect with your inner self and find balance amid life’s hustle and bustle.
“Yoga on the Green” is more than just a yoga session; it’s a chance to connect with like-minded individuals in the Asheville community. Whether you’re coming alone, with friends, or as a family, this event encourages the spirit of unity and wellness among participants. “We are so excited to bring this event to Reynolds Village.” says Marketing Associate, Gabi Walsh. “This is a great opportunity to take part in a community experience and try something new at Reynolds Village!”.

Barn Yoga with Breeze!
Back by popular demand, it’s BARN YOGA! We’re hosting the yogis of Breeze Yoga Space every last Sunday of the month, June through October, letting out just in time to enjoy our new Big Barn Market full of local farmers, food makers, crafters and artists…
Embraced by the mountains, the breeze through the trees, the rooted sensation that our farm’s land brings at every visit. Barn Yoga is just a special experience, and we’re so glad to have it back. You may be joined by one of our Farm Interns, a Butcher or Store Staff, so keep an eye out for familiar faces!

Starting in Montreat, this challenging 13.5 mile route with an elevation gain of 4000 feet will cover portions of the Greybeard Trail, the historic Old Toll Road, and the Buncombe Horse Range (Bridle) Trail, culminating in a 1,000 foot climb from Camp Alice to the Summit of Mount Mitchell.
This is a small group hike for experienced hikers with a limit of 15 participants. All hikers must be pre-approved. Those interested can register below, and will be contacted shortly after by a hike leader to be approved. Please note that on these hikes we do not charge your card the full amount until shortly before the hike. A $10 deposit is required. We will take your card information when you register, and you will be charged the remaining amount approximately two days before the hike.
We will meet at the parking lot at the Montreat Nature Center (301 Lookout Road, Montreat) at 8:15 am and arrive at the summit of Mt. Mitchell by approximately 4:00 pm. Hikers will then be transported back to their vehicles at the Nature Center.
Cost: $60 for Museum Members; $75 for Non-Members (some fees apply).

Difficulty: Very strenuous (10+). 10+ mile hike with significant elevation change.

Join the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy to celebrate our “For Love of Beer and Mountains” partnerships. This hike to Clawhammer Mountain, namesake of Highland Brewing Company’s seasonal Clawhammer Oktoberfest Lager, will be a long and strenuous 10+ mile trip along multi-use trails that traverse mountain bike, equestrian, and hiking trails as well as forest service roads. We will follow the trails up a steep climb along a creek, through wildflower patches and rich cove forest. From Clawhammer Cove to the summit, we will climb close to 1,900 feet to finish at 4,072 ft elevation. The cliff-top view at the summit offers scenic views of the Blue Ridge Parkway and Looking Glass in Pisgah National Forest.
This hike is part of our corporate partnership with Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, NC. Highland donates a portion of sales of seasonal releases during the “release party” at the Tasting Room in Asheville to support SAHC’s land and water conservation efforts, and we lead guided hikes for folks to experience and enjoy the natural landscapes for which these seasonal brews are named.
Please Note: There are a couple single log bridges, muddy areas, rocky and steep inclines and a chance of yellow jackets; SAHC wants to provide a fun and safe trip so please be aware of these conditions.
What To Bring: Hiking boots, hiking poles (optional), packed lunch, 2 liters of water, jacket/rain gear. Please dress in layers.
Dogs: Well-behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash.

Join us for a fall yoga series at the library! This is an all-levels, community-oriented yoga class – accessible to all with modifications to make things easier for those who need and options to make things more challenging for those who wish. Courtney Jarrell has 11 years of experience teaching yoga. She has certifications in Hatha Yoga and Prenatal Yoga, as well as a certification as an Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. This class will be offered on the 1st Thursday of the month from 4:30-5:30. No registration is required, but participants should bring a mat. This workshop is a gentle flow of yoga that helps to restore your strength, improve your flexibility, and preserve your balance. Restores well-being as our bodies age. Workshop is beneficial for anyone whether you are new to yoga or have practiced yoga. Please bring a yoga mat and blanket and any other props you may need. Blocks and straps will be provided.

Have you been wanting try a local hike, but don’t know where to begin? Join Buncombe County Parks & Recreation for scenic morning hikes close to home this fall. This Hike Series is a free four-pack of popular treks lead by Parks and Recreation Staff on weekday mornings. Explorers of all skill levels are invited to experience the fun of one hike, all four or somewhere in between. Space is limited to 15 hikers and advanced registration is necessary.
We will begin our hike at Lookout Mountain Trailhead where we will do a quick icebreaker and get prepped for the hike (we will have water and a few snacks available) PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER BOTTLE TO FILL UP.
From a rewarding overlook of the Seven Sisters Ridge and Swannanoa Valley to a beautiful variety of ferns, fungi, and thick canopy coverage, this loop offers a cool and peaceful adventure through the beautiful forest. All participants will get parking instructions emailed to them a week prior to the hike.
Difficulty level: Beginner to intermediate. The Lookout Trail portion consists of steep inclines with mild rock scrambling, but the remainder of the walk consists of a gentle climb.
Elevation gain: 439 feet
