Modern Strangers is is an Asheville-based band playing high-energy, toe-tapping, and melodic rock music! A 4-piece combo of journeymen musicians, they take their varied influences and form them into a JanglePop juggernaut. Hard to pin down their sound, they’ve heard comparisons from The Beatles to The Pixies to early REM to Elvis Costello to The Kinks. Catchy songs, vocal harmonies and just the right amount of edge make these guys a fun night whether they’re playing originals or quirky covers.

Mountain Bitters is an acoustic folk trio based out of Asheville, NC. The band consists of Emmalee Hunnicutt on Cello, guitar & vocals, Gretchen Caverly on 5-string viola, fiddle & vocals, and Megan Drollinger on fiddle, mandolin & vocals. Performing an assortment of styles including Celtic, Cajun and Appalachian Folk, their instrumental arrangements, informed by their early Classical training, are original and compelling. Often setting down their instruments to sing a capella, their intuitive harmonies could be descibed as intoxicating and more than a little haunting. But, as soon as you’ve wiped your tear-dimmed eye, they’ll have you up and dancing again!

Through almost non-stop song and dance, this full-hearted musical tells the story of Ti Moune, a peasant girl who rescues and falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of her island. When Daniel is returned to his people, the fantastical gods who rule the island guide Ti Moune on a quest that will test the strength of her love against the powerful forces of prejudice, hatred and even death.

The “Pour 40 Tour” is designed to bring music together with the thriving craft beer industry in our region. Throughout the course of this tour, we’ll be performing at 7 of our favorite breweries. Every week, we’ll be bringing you behind the scenes Facebook/Instagram Live episodes featuring a full tour of the facilities and a tasting of their choice brews. These episodes will air mid week throughout (dates/times of episodes to be posted separately), and at the conclusion of the Tour, we will have sampled and given our review of 40 different craft beers. We hope to give our fans a behind the scenes look at not only our band, but also each brewery and the people/stories behind them. We top it all off with a rawkin show at each brewery on the corresponding weekend!
Porch 40 formed in 2012 at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. They play a style of highly Progressive Funk Rock that has won over an eclectic audience everywhere they perform. Incorporating elements from R&B, Jazz, and Funk with the best of the Rock, Progressive, Indie and Metal, they cross over genres with ease.

Balsam Range is; Buddy Melton (fiddle, lead and tenor vocals), Darren Nicholson (mandolin, octave mandolin, lead vocals, baritone and low tenor vocals), Dr. Marc Pruett (banjo), Tim Surrett (bass, dobro, baritone and lead vocals), and Caleb Smith (guitar, lead & baritone vocals). The five original members are all acoustic musicians and singers from western North Carolina. They thoughtfully and respectfully adopted the name of a majestic range of mountains that surround part of their home county of Haywood, NC where the Great Smoky Mountains meet the Blue Ridge, the Great Balsam Range. The group’s ascent to the top of the Bluegrass world has left a well-marked trail of success since the band’s inception in 2007. One of the genre’s most award-winning artists in recent years, they have garnered ten International Bluegrass Music Association Awards on the heels of six critically acclaimed albums. A brother and a sister who have been disconnected in recent years find themselves back in their parents’ home for Christmas only to rediscover and attempt to solve their childhood issues. Watch Robert and Evelyn relive their former selves in this heartwarming comedic drama.
This play evolved from an Acting/Writing Exercise which took place in Coláiste Dhúlaigh in 2010, where two actors (Caoimhín Ó Rían and Megan Keegan) wrote and performed a short scene using language in the most unique and creative of fashions. “Bop and Evey” became one of the most celebrated creative achievements of the year and went on to perform on the Dublin Theatre scene.
