The incredibly talented Nikki Talley returns to Sanctuary Brewing Company the day before Thanksgiving! Bring your family and friends to 1st Ave. and celebrate!
As 295,000 miles click over, Nikki Talley just smiles.
After 5 1/2 years of hard touring, 150-200 shows annually, Nikki continues traveling on, bringing her gorgeous voice & thoughtful songs all across the nation. Hailing from the mountains of western North Carolina, it’s only fitting that her songs are as eclectic as the state that boasts the mountains and the sea. Along with her guitar & clawhammer style banjo, her musical partner & husband Jason Sharp adds resonant lush guitar tones as well as harmonies to round out the duo’s sound.
Out From The Harbor is a collection of 10 songs recorded at Asheville’s Echo Mountain Studio. With only a few other additions to the record, including Michael Ashworth (Steep Canyon Rangers) on bass & tasteful percussion, the stage is set for Nikki’s soulful vocal and storied lyrics while Jason Sharp’s guitar soars alongside.
As expected Out From The Harbor often travels through the element of water be it the sea, rivers, rain or tears. Nikki’s silken voice is on full display. The album opens with “Rainy Day”, a song about how sometimes you need a rainy day and that ‘all the sunshine in California couldn’t make this go away’. “Let’s Go Out On The Water” recalls a day of fishing with friends, a pastime Nikki & Jason enjoy while making musical tracks throughout the U.S. Whether it’s from the hills of haunted Appalachia, the seashores of the Gulf or the dry dusty heat of the desert, each song takes the listener along on the journeys that sometimes mirror the everyday adventures of the musical couple especially on the track “Travelin On” with lyrics “Travelin on just like we were kids on a merry go round and round / We’re somewhere in the middle of chasing our tails and chasing our dreams down”.
“Nikki Talley has traveled a lot of miles these past few years and called numerous places home, but we in Western NC still want to claim her as one of the area’s finest singer-songwriters. Always genuine and down to earth, she and her partner Jason Sharp deliver her latest songs on Out From the Harbor in a beautiful, laid-back style — just in time for a beautiful, laid-back summer. “
– Martin Anderson
WNCW Music Director & Host
You can find Nikki & Jason chasing their dreams down in their van, Blue Bell all across the country playing festivals, venues & house concerts.

About Spirals in Contact:
After studying and training with The Axis Syllabus for the couple years, Aaron has begun to grasp that there is not a straight line to be found in the human body, nor in the ways that the body moves. We are twisting, spiraling beings, and our movement pathways can resemble that of a fish, or a tornado, or a falling leaf… Finding spirals in contact improv duets opens doors to ease, safety, and the harnessing and recycling of momentum. Come take your spine for a drive. Beginners welcome!
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing, natural fibers preferred. Avoid earrings and jewelry, and out of respect for those with sensitivity, no scents please.

Reclaimed Creations is a unique sculpture exhibit created by renowned artist Sayaka Ganz. Utilizing reclaimed plastic objects, such as discarded utensils, Ganz creates amazing sculptures that visually appear unified at a distance, but are in fact separated when examined up close. Described as using a “3D impressionistic” style, Ganz’s exhibit includes installations of animals in motion, which are in rich in color and energy, to create an illusion of form.
About the Artist
Born in Yokohama, Japan, Sayaka Ganz grew up living in Japan, Brazil and Hong Kong. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, and a Master of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. A lecturer and teacher, Ganz’s work has been displayed at various institutions around the globe, including the Hermann Geiger Foundation in Cecina, Italy, the Isle Gallery in Isle of Man, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium in California.
My work is about perceiving harmony, even in situations that appear chaotic from the inside. When observing my sculptures up close, one might see gaps, holes and items being held on only by small points; step away, however, and the sculptures reveal the harmony created when the objects are aligned to the same general (but not identical) direction. Similarly, it is important to gain perspective by stepping back from current problems and look at the larger picture. Then one can perceive the beauty and patterns that exist.”
