Drums & Dragons is WNC Bridge Foundation’s premier fundraising event and has raised over $122,000 benefiting local area non-profits in Western North Carolina since its inception in 2017.
Drums & Dragons is a one-of-a kind event and has built a reputation of not only being a day of fun for the whole family but is also known as a unique team-building experience enjoyed by many local businesses and non-profits in our community.
Dragon boat racing is open to all skill levels and a team consists of 20 paddlers, a drummer, and a steerer all paddling to cross the finish line faster than their competition. Dragon boat racing is a team sport that emphasizes synchronization and endurance, that people of all ages and abilities can enjoy.

The eighth annual CiderFest NC fundraiser will be held in a brand-new format this fall that offers loyal guests the chance to celebrate, sample and savor cider safely and responsibly.
While the large annual festival will not be offered this fall in light of current health concerns, the event will continue this year through CiderFest Tours: small-group curated tours of three Asheville cideries that are being offered in partnership with local business Leap Frog Tours.
The tours will allow participants to visit three of Asheville’s cideries — Noble Cider, Urban Orchard Cider Company – West and TreeRock Social Cider House & Mead Bar — for intimate, small-group tasting sessions to sample unique takes on the craft beverage on each of the locations. Proceeds will be shared between Leap Frog Tours, the three participating cideries and Green Built Alliance.
To offer the largest number of people the opportunity to participate, the four-hour tours will be offered from 3 to 7 p.m. on every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday in October.
Tours can be reserved for groups of 2 to 14 individuals, and bookings open up today. To prioritize safety in light of COVID-19, all tours will be private without combining reservations from separate parties. The WWE Friday Night SmackDown originally scheduled for Friday May 15 in Greenville, SC has been postponed to Monday Night Raw on Monday, October 5. All original tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date.
Our Maggot workouts take place every Tuesday evening and will make you a stronger and better runner. Challenge yourself. All levels welcome. Meet at the Jus’ Running shop at 6:30pm or you can meet us at the UNCA track at 7 p.m.

The 2020 Walk to End Alzheimer’s has taken on a totally different look this year due to Covid 19. Please see the attached flyer that outlines Walk Day Saturday, October 10. We will not be gathering en masse at but we will walk individually or as teams in your neighborhoods, at a track, or a trail throughout the Asheville area.
So please join me on my team, BB’s Buddies, or start your own team and walk on Saturday, October 10 at your favorite walking place!
I realize fundraising in the middle of a pandemic is daunting. We will have a vaccine for the Coronavirus in time. But after years and years of research we still do not have a vaccine or cure or prevention for Alzheimer’s. The need is great to find a cure for Alzheimer’s, that is why I continue to support, and fundraise in the hope that one day no one will suffer from this devastating disease.

The Black Bear Half is 13.1 miles of flat and mostly paved trail that runs along the beautiful Oklahawa Greenway. With only 350 feet of elevation gain, road runners will LOVE this new course that starts and ends at Jackson Park (TBD) in Hendersonville NC. The route is an out-and-back, lollipop course, with one ‘self-service’ water station at the halfway point. Runners will complete the loop twice. We do encourage you to bring your own fuel, nutrition and refreshments for this event. GPS ROUTE COMING SOON
