¡Triskatrivia!
2019’s Themes: (updated as they are determined)
Feb 20 – Game of Thrones
Feb 27 – World Geography
March 6 – 80’s Music & Pop Culture
March 13 – Food & Drink
¡TriskaTrivia! is Triskelion’s Themed Trivia Night!
Starts at 7pm, and usually lasts at least an hour and a half.
Glorious Prizes:
First Place Team: $25 Gift Card
Second Place Team: $15 Gift Card
Each member of the team that wins the Very Hard Questions Round (almost always Round 3), will win a free beer.
If at least 6 people dress up in costumes that relate to the night’s theme, then the best dressed (determined by me) wins a free beer!
(that means if your entire team of 6 are the only ones dressed up, then a member of your team is destined to get a free beer)
There are six rounds, with 10 questions each, and each round will be on a different subject that relates to the night’s theme… Each question is worth 5 points.
Teams can consist of up to six players, or you can play by yourself if you have no friends.
Cheating is not allowed… no phones, no “yelling out of answers” (even wrong ones), and no handy reference materials… This is not an open book trivia night.
Come on out and show off your Brainz!!!

Due to overwhelming interest in this film screening, we have added a second viewing!
From award-winning filmmaker Dan Habib comes INTELLIGENT LIVES, a catalyst to transform the label of intellectual disability from a life sentence of isolation into a life of possibility for the most systematically segregated people in America.
INTELLIGENT LIVES stars three pioneering young American adults with intellectual disabilities – Micah, Naieer, and Naomie – who challenge perceptions of intelligence as they navigate high school, college, and the workforce. Academy Award-winning actor and narrator Chris Cooper contextualizes the lives of these central characters through the emotional personal story of his son Jesse, as the film unpacks the shameful and ongoing track record of intelligence testing in the U.S.
INTELLIGENT LIVES challenges what it means to be intelligent, and points to a future in which people of all abilities can fully participate in higher education, meaningful employment, and intimate relationships.
We are excited to announce that #IntelligentLives is coming to Asheville on March 12. It will be screening at The Biltmore Grande Stadium and tickets can be reserved at https://gathr.us/screening/24042
The movie screening will be followed by a panel discussion with young adult self-advocates, parents, educators, and business
leaders.

Chicago Don hosts the AGB Stage for our Big City Blues Jam. Come sign up to play!
Chicago, Detroit, New York. Bright lights. Big city. Get mesmerized in the sound of Big City Blues. Clear, sharp melodies on horns and harps contrast the deep, rich back beats of the electric bass. Keyboard riffs battle electric guitars that are on fire, and classic blues drum beats drive home the groove. Lose yourself in a night of soulful music reminiscent of Freddie King, Charlie Robison, Billie Holiday, Luther Allison in the smoke filled dance halls of the past.

Adding a Southeast destination for designer toy makers and collectors, *Assembly Required brings designer, bootleg and art toy artists from around the country, to present and sell their work.
Asheville’s premiere designer toy expo, *Assembly Required, is presented by Unboxing Asheville, Morgan’s Comic’s, 103.3 Asheville FM and Appalachian Pinball Museum. Focusing on this artistic movement, designer toys are a form of lowbrow pop art. These toy makers pull inspiration from a variety of subversive segments of culture, as well as subcultural elements, including (but not limited to) comics, tattooing, street art, and everything related to toys of the 60’s through the 80’s.
Echoing production methods of traditional toy manufacturers, designer toys are usually intended to be displayed as collectibles, rather than to be played with. Toy makers mediums range from resin to vinyl, from plastic to plush; with molding, and production techniques such as kitbash, sofubi and bootleg (recently coined ‘Artisanal Action Figure’, by New York Times writer, Rich Juzwiak [11/23/18]). (https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/23/style/bootleg-toys-action-figures.html).
Juzwiak interviews such artists as the Sucklord and Killer Bootlegs, both of whom will be present at *Assembly Required.
