So ladies and gentleman Well be doing a fall moppets show! Which one you ask? Well that where it gets really fun. We have been asked by the Montford Park Players, to perform the main stage production of the classic A Christmas Carol! You read that right, the main stage!! So you want to come play? Here are all the details you may need right now…
Show: A Christmas Carol
Director: Ashleigh Goff, Co-Director: Skyler Goff
When: October 15th and 16th, 6-8pm
Where: Colourfield, 54 Ravenscroft Dr, Asheville NC
Rehearsal schedule: Oct 22nd – Dec 13th (rehearsing from 5pm-8pm to respect school nights)
Shows: Dec 14th -16th and Dec 21st -23rd
Cost: Free
Cast: We will be casting 12 people (ages 9-17) in ALL of the roles for A Christmas carol
Crew: All of our crew (Stage managers, Run crew etc) will be youth
Designers: We will be looking for a team to help us design and build our set, special effects and costumes, so if you want to be on design crew let us know!
– You do NOT have to be on stage to be a part of the production! We will be doing this production like a main stage run, meaning our tech team and actors will not need to be the same (but you can, you can do both if you would like, but you don’t have to)
-there is an age limit to act (9-17) but not to to be on crew or design (so past moppets are welcome to come back and help!!!)
You do have to audition to be cast, but you do not have to audition to be on crew or design. We are opening this up to and reaching out to the community to cast this production so feel free to share this info with anyone you’d like to!
Any additional questions should be asked of Ashleigh Goff at 828-702-1665
We are looking forward to this exciting opportunity and I really look forward to working with you!

MUSIC
Drayton & The Dreamboats are Asheville’s premier dream-based social music band. Formed in the dream world, the quartet traveled to earth in 2014 in hopes of inspiring the human race to dream again. Featuring vocalist and violinist Drayton Aldridge, guitarist Tim Doyle, bassist Craig Sandberg, and drummer Mattick Frick, Drayton & The Dreamboats play a tasty blend of vintage styles, mixed in with more modern influences and the ancient musical secrets of the dream world. Through a mix of up-tempo swing, cool ballads, and catchy pop tunes, Drayton & The Dreamboats distill your dreams into musical reality.
BLUES
Band finished and you’re not done dancing? You’re in luck… stick around for our vintage blues hour! Continue dancing to DJ’d music until the bar kicks us out. $2 suggested donation for those coming just for the blues hour.
FOOD: Feeling peckish? The bar has a small selection of vegan goodies to help keep your stamina up! Ask a bartender for more details.
CLASSES
7pm: Continuing Class: Intermediate Partner Charleston w/ Sparrow & Jean
We will be working on side by side variations for the first two weeks, tandem entrances, exits, and variations for weeks 3 and 4, and for the 5th week of October we will be doing a special class on switching and stealing- super useful for jams and social dancing!
“Continuing” classes are for those dancers who have cemented the basics of the dance being featured that specific month. This includes knowing (and being able to execute cleanly and consistently) basic footwork and lead/follow skills for that dance. Some continuing classes may require no advance knowledge of a dance. This will be noted in the the class description.
*******************
8 pm: Core Class: Intro to 8-count Lindy Hop w/ Sparrow & Keith
Learn the foundations of the 8 count Lindy Hop, the high energy dance from Harlem that swept the nation and then the globe. Starting from the very beginning, breaking down the steps and rhythms in easy to understand ways, Keith and Sparrow will get ya on the dance floor and having fun in no time. No partner required and drop in friendly, though of course you’ll learn the most if you start at the beginning of the month and stay till the end!
“Core” lessons stress the fundamentals of swing dancing for beginning dancers. Lessons rotate monthly to focus on a different kind of swing dance (6 Count Lindy, 8 Count Lindy, Charleston, Balboa, etc.). Because good fundamentals are hard to develop in one month, we recommend repeating Core lessons (on the same topic) to help develop the solid foundation you’ll need in continuing classes. Core lessons are also great for intermediate and advanced dancers who want to “get back to basics” or learn a different dancing role (lead vs. follow).
*************************
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Do you want to buy a gift certificate for our classes as a gift, or to pre-pay for a block of classes for yourself? You can purchase gift certificates at the door at our weekly dance! They are $40 for a block of 4, and a great way to dive into the fun world of dance.

The anti-genre indie pranksters SeepeopleS have been a band for 17 years. The band, which is the brainchild of bandleader/songwriter/producer Will Bradford, has released 5 full length albums and 2 EPs on their own imprint, RascalZRecordZ. It would be an accurate statement to say that there isn’t a single band on the planet that covers as much ground musically, or traverses through as many musical universes as SeepeopleS does. Musicians have long since taken notice and members of Morphine, Spearhead, Dave Matthews Band (Tim Reynolds), and even members of Parliament/Funkadelic and Lynyrd Skynyrd are featured on previous albums. All seven records were co-produced by Will Holland (Pixies, New Pornographers, Dead Can Dance) The band has toured ceaselessly, playing over 1500 shows in 46 states during their long career. Most importantly, SeepeopleS features songwriting that is the definition of timelessness and lyrically have been busy writing the most important musical anthems of our generation. It may be long after our lifetimes before this band gets their due, but they certainly will. Nothing this good can remain hidden forever.
As far as “hype” goes, the band was recently nominated for “Best Live Act” for the 2016 New England Music Awards. Other nominations include “Best New Artist” (Relix Magazine Awards 2007).The band has shared the stage and toured with such acts as Death Cab for Cutie, Franz Ferdinand, Cracker, De La Soul, The Pharcyde, Ben Harper, Kula Shaker, Presidents of the United States and have even had Jon Fishman (Phish) join the band for a SeepeopleS set during a Bernie Sanders rally. They have been featured in Pop Matters, Magnet, Exclaim, High Times, Relix. DRUM Magazine, Blue Walrus and now Daytrotter, to name a short few. Their music has been used on Judging Amy (TNT), The Gates (ABC), and in feature films such as ‘Canvasman,’ and ‘Wheels Over Paradise,’ as well as on the Discovery Channel and NASCAR broadcasts. They provided most of the music for the Headcount (voting registration) documentary ‘Call To Action’ and have played CMJ, SXSW, as well as a major music festivals’ Wakarusa and Allgood Music Festival.
Recently the band released their newest EP, ‘HATE’ in 2017 as well as a brand new video animated by Pete List (Celebrity Death Match/MTV, Marilyn Manson). The band has been on tour for the past couple years in support of their triple series of EP releases, ‘LOVE,’ ‘HATE,’ and ‘LIVE,’ which is scheduled for release this Christmas. All three EPs will be released digitally with some bonus tracks as ‘SeepeopleS LOVE HATE LIVE’ at that time as well.
