Official Movement Pre-Party with LESSNOISE (Part of the legendary Phuture with Dj Pierre) LESSNOISE
An avant-garde electronic music producer, remixer, DJ and live performer, Lessnoise (aka Fher Rivera) began his music career in Mexico in 1991 as a guitar, bass, and drum player involved in different projects spanning genres from metal to new age. His fascination for electronic music grew as well as his love for ambient and acid jazz. In 1998, at the age of 18, he traded in his drum kit and guitars for his first pair of turntables and turned to the electronic music scene. Soon after finding his true passion, he had his first residency at a local nightclub and later headlined events in Central and North America and a radio show in New York City, Downshift Radio. He has shared the stage with diverse live acts and DJs including Steve Lawler, Satoshi Tomiie, Todd Terry, Nick Warren, Doc Martin, and Frankie Bones.
Lessnoise has also demonstrated his talents as a sound engineer. He has led recording, mixing, and mastering sessions for Todd Terry, DJ Spank (Phuture), and DJ Sneak.
Recently Lessnoise toured with DJ Pierre in the legendary Acid House group Phuture with impressive performances around the world including Paul Kaulkbrenner’s “Back to the Future” event at Awakenings during the 2017 Amsterdam Dance Event, at Movement Detroit 2018, and at Berghain in Berlin.
Lessnoise debuted a solo live act at WMC Miami in 2016. He is currently working on a new live act that integrates the knowledge and experience he has gained throughout his artistic career to create a performance that will take the audience on a journey unlike any other.

an-ten-nae
An*Ten*Nae is one of San Francisco’s most sought after DJs and live performers. He has taken the art of live remixing to new heights with his own customized setup, that bends genres in ways seldom heard. This sound is called Acid Crunk, and there are no rules, no restraints in its quest for pure BASS devastation.
An*Ten*Nae is a low frequency emitter transmitting and remixing music on the fly, giving him the ability to transcend above the constraints of music rigidity and transmit bass heavy, crunked out beats of the highest order. HisGenre bending, “Acid Crunk compilations” have set the standard and has defined an era with over 1,000,000 downloads to date. Picking up steam in 2009 Acid Crunk Vol. 2 maintained the # 1 seller in Dubstep, Electronica and Chillout genres simultaneously while also having all 14 tracks in their respective genre top 10, as well as rocking the charts on iTunes, Juno Digital and a host of other sites. With an album in the works and the ever growing Acid Crunk series running at full steam, we see no end in site for the ever changing chameleon known as An*Ten*Nae.
“An-ten-nae goes for the lowest, loudest bass on this reworking of the track “Hold the Line,” which also features Santigold on vocals.” – XLR8R
“He produces the kind of stinkin’ Bass heavy beats that make you nod your head so hard it gives you a concussion. ” & “He’s come up with probably our favourite name to describe the sound so far, infact from now on it is Acid Crunk.” – Chrome Kids
“This Oakland/San Fransico based producer has been on the game for over 10 years, starting out producing everything from electronica, to breaks, to dubstep; and creating his own staple in the bass music realm dubbed “Acid Crunk”. He is what we call a “Trendsetter” in the world of Bass Music.” – Run The Trap

STIG
STIG is an all-instrumental psychedelic neo-funk band based out of Asheville, North Carolina, consisting of 5 best friends from a myriad of places both geographically and musically, including Ryan Stigmon on saxophone, Thomson Knoles on keyboards, Artie Sadtler on bass, Jack McChesney on drums, and Riley Hoover on guitar. They are individually influenced by jazz, funk, metal, bluegrass, psychedelic rock, and beyond. A day in the STIG tour van is soundracked by an absurd potluck of 5 musical brains and their live shows artfully weave their improvisational nature with tight communication and 3 years of playing and growing together, to create a high energy, exploratory and engaging experience.
STIG’s music is the culmination of a democratic and highly collaborative song-writing process – their tunes are all original and always written as a group to fuse each member’s genre-crossing influences. Since forming while at Berklee College of Music in Boston, STIG has been touring the country non-stop, and developing community around their music in the Southeast region.
From opening for the likes of Aqueous, Nicki Bluhm and Dynamo to raging the late night stage at Some Kind Of Jam festival, STIG is constantly working to bring their groovy instrumental sound to as many smiling faces as they can, catering to the vibe and energy of the crowd. Be on the lookout for new music, tour dates, and updates from the band!

Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent became the most heralded new act in bluegrass as their debut album Dailey & Vincent (2008) and busy tour schedule introduced them to wildly appreciative audiences. The group took home seven awards at the 2008 International Bluegrass Music Awards Show, including Entertainer of the Year and Album of the Year. These “Brothers from Different Mothers” presents the band at a level of synergy that only comes from constant live performing. It exudes the enthusiasm of a venture still fresh for all its participants. Jamie Dailey and Darrin Vincent have been bluegrass musicians throughout their careers and never depart from that core sensibility. But, like the earliest icons, they also push the bluegrass envelope. Best of all, they’ve found the closest thing to brotherhood – a true musical partnership. Their mix of stage presence and musicianship paired with pure, powerful vocals, results in a rich, innovative sound and a show that will never be forgotten.
The Memorial Day Weekend Art Festival will feature a collection of local and national artists specializing in hand-made works of art. The show is set up on the streets of North Pack Square and South Pack Square around the Vance Memorial.

SMRT: Shoulder, Axilla, Ribcage, & Upper Back
Course Description: SMRT: Shoulder, Axilla, Ribcage, & Upper Back class will help you to work the entire shoulder girdle. You will learn to successfully work with:
Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Kyphosis
Rotator Cuff Tears, both before and after surgery
Axillary Lymph Node Dissection and associated Lymphedema
Thoracic Degenerative Disc Disease and Thoracic Spondylosis
Tendinitis and Bursitis of the Shoulder
Shoulder girdle misalignment resulting from a clavicular fracture
SMRT is a positional release modality that interrupts pain signals in the body, painlessly resolves trigger points, has an incredibly calming effect on the nervous system, and is highly stimulating to the lymphatic system. By working with all tissues in any given area, SMRT easily and quickly allows the tissues to balance and the joints to realign effortlessly, re-establishing correct posture. Benefits of SMRT include:
• natural realignment of joints by directly releasing specific ligaments and joint structures
• pain free resolution of trigger points
• swift and painless removal of adhesions
• disruption of the positive feedback loops of pain in the nervous system
• considerable stimulation of the lymphatic system
All of this is done quickly, with almost no pain to the client, and in a way that is tremendously easy on your body. Because we have disrupted the pain loops, settled the parasympathetic nervous system, created almost no additional pain, and brought the area back to homeostasis, the results of an SMRT treatment last. Join us for a hands-on class and learn to unlock all structures in the shoulder girdle.

A new temporary exhibit titled “Dressing for the Occasion: Mid-Century Sandburg as Celebrity and Family Man” opens on May 13, 2019. The exhibit, which runs through October, is part of the Sandburg Home tour and features clothing and accessories from both the park’s permanent collection and loaned items from the Sandburg family.
“Dressing for the Occasion” offers visitors a window into the style, culture, and feel of mid-century America. The family’s clothing and accessories weave together the roles of Carl Sandburg as a prominent writer, celebrity, father, and husband. This temporary exhibit offers an exciting opportunity for the public to view objects that are normally in storage or in the possession of Sandburg family members. Tours of the Sandburg Home are offered daily from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm. Tickets are available first come, first served, each day from the visitor information area in the ground level of the Sandburg Home.
Nearly every room in the historically furnished house museum will be included in the exhibit. Visitors will see the characteristic scarves Carl Sandburg wore as he played his guitar and sang folk songs to entertain his family and guests, the dress Lilian Sandburg wore to meet President Lyndon B. Johnson, and many other mid-century pieces worn by the Sandburgs and their daughters. Historic photographs, paired with the clothing, will provide context.

Join us any Saturday for outdoor activities at the garden. Local youth involved in programming for building life skills, improving literacy and leadership development welcome young people in the area to join them, and we are always in need of adult volunteers to help with mentoring. Involvement in the Shiloh Community Garden also includes the experience of growing produce organically, lessons in permaculture and the science of sustainability, healthy meal preparation, and entrepreneurship. Come join the fun!

Qigong (alternatively spelled chi gung or chi kung) is a form of gentle exercise composed of movements that are repeated a number of times, often stretching the body, increasing fluid movement (blood, synovial and lymph) and building awareness of how the body moves through space.
The classes and the introduction to Qigong will be taught by Dr. John Akers.
Dr. Akers is a recently retired Wofford language professor and classical guitarist who has taught wellness classes at Wofford, the Spartanburg YMCA, and Zen Garden. Dr. Akers played and coached collegiate soccer, has practiced meditation over 40 years, and teaches a daily routine of yoga and core strengthening enhanced by Qigong energy play. Dr. Akers is also an avid golfer committed to carrying his own clubs, without a cart.
